Welcome to the Cad Bane mods guide – the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for each SWGoH character here. As your guest reviewer I cannot claim to have definitive answers but all toons I’ve written guides for have been maxed out, modded and tested to the best of my abilities. These are mod recommendations and they are certainly not the only option. However we look to help players maximize their characters in SWGoH and we are always open to feedback if you have a mod setup that works well of your gameplay.

SWGoH - Cad BaneToday’s toon to review mods for is one of the sinister six bounty hunters, Cad Bane. Years ago he was worth farming in the galactic war store as he was mainly useful for credit heists, against Jedi teams and Dark Side Territory Battles since Bounty Hunters were a needed special mission squad. After the Cad Bane rework announced in August 2018, his basic attack, GUN SLINGER has a 65% chance to attack twice and gains 15% Turn Meter (TM) with each critical hit. His special STUN GLOVE, now stuns, dispels all debuffs and removes 50% TM, 100% reduction against Jedi targets. He has a leader ability has been completely changed from a evasion-based stat to “Bounty Hunter allies have +100% Potency and gain Advantage for 2 turns when they inflict a debuff.” His new Contract reads “Whenever Cad Bane receives Rewards from a Contract, he also gains the following Payout:
Payout: Cad Bane has +25% Evasion. Inflict Thermal Detonator for 2 turns on attacking enemy when Cad Bane Evades, which can’t be Evaded.”

Main Mods Focus: A long, long time time ago, in a galaxy much like this one there was the ‘dodge’ meta and Cad briefly troubled the arena with his anti-Jedi leader skills taking down Luminara Jedi dodge squads. These days, his main value comes as the pilot of the Xanadu Blood ship which is part of the late 2021 fleet META with other Bounty Hunter ships. For Cad as a character, amp up his Speed, Critical Chance and Critical Damage to ensure he is useful for your team, but for now Speed should be your main focus given his slow base speed.

Additional Areas to Focus: As mentioned above, Critical Chance and Critical Damage are other major areas of focus to get Cad Bane to hit harder and gain extra attacks, and given For The Right Price now grants him +30% CC and +30% CD. He’s not a strong defense toon and can get taken down quickly so extra defence and protection really help. When not in the Leader slot Potency will help Cad Bane given his basic can inflict Accuracy Down.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Critical Damage & Critical Chance. No disagreement here, just aim for high Speed secondaries from your mods, and look to add some survivability as well.



 

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Cad Bane:

I recommend the use of a set of 4 Critical Damage and, thanks to the rework, a set of 2 Critical Chance mods. Here is what I would recommend (although the set bonuses can be gained from any combination of placements as long as 2 are CC & 4 are CD mods):

  • Transmitter (Square) – Crit Damage mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on speed/protection/defense/crit chance
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Critical Chance or Health mod with speed primary, secondary protection/health/crit chance/defense.
  • Processor (Diamond) – Crit Damage mod with defense and a secondary focus on speed/protection/defense/crit chance.
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Critical Chance or Health mod with a Crit Damage primary and a secondary focus on protection/speed/defense/crit chance.
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Crit Damage mod with a protection primary and a secondary focus on crit chance/speed/health/defense.
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Crit Damage mod with a Health/Protection primary and a secondary focus on health or protection/crit chance/speed/defense.

  1. Sorry to necro your blog post but the primary stat focus on the Transmitter and Processor are conspicuously missing. I’m assuming Offense and Defense Primary respectively would be easy choices to default to.

  2. Under boba lead can we swap the 2 health mod for 2 potency mod to grant more hp to all team ?

  3. Your set up says 4 crit damage and 2 crit chance mods but you have health mods down below in your set up.
