MSF - Daredevil

Welcome to the latest article in our series of character reviews about the popular game Marvel Strike Force where we break down the kits to tell you how best to use Daredevil and all of the other Heroes & Villains in MSF. While we do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, we do our research and have used every character we write about extensively while also giving you a little background on their story. These are reviews based on the character’s kit and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Marvel Strike Force.

Daredevil

MSF Farm Location: Arena Store, Mega Orb, Premium Orb

Primary Role: Brawler

Background/Origin:

The son of boxer “Battlin’” Jack Murdock, Matt Murdock grew up in the relative poverty of Hell’s Kitchen with much reverence for his father, who constantly pressed him to study instead of playing with his friends. In turn, they taunted him with the nickname Daredevil since he always went back to studying (or secretly training in his father’s gym) instead of doing things with them.

As a boy, Matt witnessed a man about to be hit by a truck and pushed him out of the way but the truck crashed and spilled its cargo of extremely toxic chemicals into his face. He awoke in the hospital blind from the toxins and learned that his other senses were amplified as a result of his loss of sight and was able to see by a radar-like sense using natural sounds around him, giving him ultimate confidence in his surroundings. He met a blind martial arts master named Stick, who taught him to hone his senses and trained him in martial arts among other skills such as free running, meditation and marksmanship.

As an adult, he became a lawyer and opened a law firm with Foggy Nelson while secretly taking on the mantle of Daredevil in order to protect the citizens of Hell’s Kitchen and bring justice to the streets as well as the courtroom.

Strategies in Marvel Strike Force:

Daredevil is one of the core members of the Defenders, and provides the firepower that this team needs to be able to take down enemies. He is best paired with Punisher due to their natural synergies, and they are dominate against villains. Daredevil should be used primarily with the Punfenders, but he also excels on a full Brawler team. He provides a speed up bonus to his fellow Defenders through his passive, as well as Counter to them with his special. He gains increased dodge change when paired with the Defenders as well, making him harder to kill. He has two abilities that can chain to other targets, making in a great brawler overall.

Example Team Synergies:

  • Punfenders – Daredevil/Jessica Jones/Iron Fist/Punisher/Luke Cage (or Ms. Marvel)
Best For: Arena (early game), Raids, Blitz, Alliance War, Hero and Nexus Campaigns
The Punfenders are one of the best early game teams a player can get. They provide a relatively easy investment for amazing returns. The true key to this lineup, aside from the Defender’s synergy, is Punisher and what he provides. When his abilities are levelled up, he’ll counter attack anytime Daredevil is attacked, and provide an insane large bonus again Villains. Placing Daredevil next to Luke or Ms. Marvel so that he gets hit by chains is a good strategy to trigger Punisher’s counter. Daredevil takes extra advantage of Punisher’s Villain bonus as his basic will provide him with 2 attacks against Villains. When Daredevil’s passive is ranked up, he’ll also provide a speed bonus to all other Defenders. Swapping out Ms. Marvel for Punisher or Luke Cage provides an extra punch for Daredevil and Iron Fist in this lineup as well as a triggered taunt for extra protection.
  • Brawlers – Daredevil/Iron Fist/Ms. Marvel/Any 2 Brawlers
Best For: Blitz, Arena (early game)
The Brawlers are a fun team, and if you pair Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Ms. Marvel with any two other brawlers you get a nice little one-two with Iron Fist able to heal Daredevil. There aren’t many calls for Brawlers team in today’s game outside of Blitz or early game Arena due to lack of sustain.

Preferred Game Modes:

Daredevil thrives in nearly all game modes. He is a fast attacking character that can deal out massive damage in a short amount of time. When going up against villains, he can absolutely dominate a match, especially when paired with Punisher.
