Like Territory Wars in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, the Grand Arena allows players to place a defense and then, 24 hours later, attack their opponent’s defense. However, while Territory Wars includes two players facing off in head to head competition. Scoring is based on efficiency as the fewer attacks needed to beat your enemy’s team, and the more effective your win is, the more points you score.
The 3v3 portion of the Grand Arena is the area of the game I get the most positive feedback about, likely because we do not see 3 versus 3 in any area of the game other than ships. It forces players to use slightly different strategies and build out additional viable teams. In 3v3 play ships are NOT included, so the territories only include your playable characters. However, because we do not see 3v3 anywhere else in SWGoH, this Grand Arena mode proves quite tricky for many players. Below I will begin to list popular, effective counters to assist you in your quest to dominate the holotables in GAS 3v3!
Grand Arena Championships (GAC) 3v3 Teams
Finn, Resistance Hero Poe, Reisistance Hero Finn – Finn, Resistance Hero Poe, Reisistance Hero Finn are a common defensive team in the GAC 3v3 play for two reasons. 1) They are a pain to face without a good counter and 2) they often use up your opponent’s Han & Chewie. In this video my opponent did what I expected him to do and placed them on defense so I was ready and used a Wedge Antilles lead with Han & Chewie for an easy win. > Countering Finn & the Resistance Hero Bros in SWGoH 3v3
Rex, Barriss Offee & Fives – Rex, Barriss Offee & Fives provide some challenge as the goal on Defense is to have Barriss and Fives protect Rex long enough for his Rex-hilate special ability. In the video linked I get an overpowered win using Bastila Shan, General Skywalker & Barriss Offee in the championship round of the March/April 3v3 round of GAC play as I kept a ton of offense for this round and outscored my opponent on efficiency. > Countering Rex, Barriss & Fives in SWGoH 3v3
Rey, Han Solo & Chewbacca – While most Rey teams can be defeated with Sith Eternal Emperor and Wat Tambor, this match-up is baiting the attacker into messing up and using that duo. While it can still work, as I have learned from experience, the Shot First ability of Han trumps Wat and will likely stun him making you either very mad or just have to sweat a bit. In this counter I use a Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker and Hermit Yoda counter to ensure I have what it takes to win with all of my characters alive. > Countering Rey, Han Solo & Chewbacca in SWGoH 3v3
