The likable and sassy droid L3-37 is set to be May’s login character in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes and already it has many wondering what does it mean for our next character introduction. While the obvious choice is a new Droid character actor coming to SWGoH, let’s take a look at two less obvious options.

Droid Ships – We all know that with the addition of a 3rd Fleet to the Grand Arena it has caused a bit of a stir. In April we had Admiral Ackbar as the login character and saw the addition of Dash Rendar’s ship, the Outrider, and we have had four new ships added over the past couple of months. Given the higher need for more ships by endgame players for the Grand Arena, my money is on another Fleet unit being added to the game, and a Droid ship seems like a logical choice. Maybe the Malevolence becomes the hard counter to the Executor by adding an HMP Droid Gunship or the Droid Tri-Fighter with even more assists and Buzz Droids to further strengthen the Separatist Fleet.

Solo: A Star Wars Story Characters: The movie Solo: A Star Wars Story Characters is in my opinion a highly-underrated Star Wars movie, receiving much of the backlash of Rain Johnson’s debacle in The Last Jedi just 6 months prior, and there are two obvious choices from the movie to join SWGoH. Both Dryden Vos and Tobias Beckett played major roles in the movie, and would be great additions to the game. A Crime Syndicate tag would be awesome with Vos with Qi’ra, Maul and possibly others getting the tag as well, and like the Mandalorian faction, additions over time could be the plan for CG.

For Tobias Beckett there is no doubt the Scoundrel tag could be in play, but I do not believe he would qualify as a Bounty Hunter. What would be interesting is if CG started having SWGoH character with factions within factions like Marvel Strike Force does so well. While the X-Men are a faction, the Astonishing X-Men and Uncanny X-Men have special synergies with one another and this is not something SWGoH has capitalized on nearly as well. Having Tobias Beckett in on a Kessel Run faction with Young Ha, Young Lando, Vandor Chewie, Qi’ra and L3-37 and added synergy of this team would be great as the Scoundrel faction is a bit all over the place at the moment. Even a Vandor synergy with Young Han and Vandor Chewie and possibly Enfys Nest would be a fun take where an “enemy” synergizes well – again something MSF does very well and SWGoH seems to steer clear of.

While I do not believe CG will add anyone from the Solo movie, it’s fun to theorize. Honestly, I feel we need more creative approaches to the factions and their synergies in the game as this is something the competition does a much better job with than SWGoH, but given how the game has been run by from the top by Electronic Arts over the past few years that seems unlikely. Expect a ship to be added and hopefully it is one that really helps a faction compete with the Executor, but I for one am not holding my breath.
