The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Lost Woods
While trying to get into the Lost Woods, you’ll notice you will get lost at any part of the woods except one entrance. But then when you go into this entrance, there’s nowhere else to go without getting lost. It’s a frustrating game that the woods played to make you look up a guide. As it would turn out, this is a well thought out puzzle, with the solution likely shoved in your face on your way to the woods entrance.
Down the road south of the Lost Woods’ entrance, you will find a chasm. As you might guess, you must jump down this chasm and make your way to an area where you can ascend into Korok Forest. I recommend you place a marker down at the center of the lost woods before you descend, to guide you to where you need to go.
Following the path that lay in front of you should be relatively easy for quite a bit, until you reach a large pool of gloom behind a tree with a face on it. In order to cross this lake of gloom, you must climb on top of that tree with the face and jump across to other large trees until you have crossed. Be careful, you have little room for error while jumping on the trees, as most of the trees have nothing but gloom to catch you if you fall. If you reach an area where you can’t see any more trees, either look for poes to guide you or throw a brightbloom seed in front of you. The poes will only stand on ground uncovered in gloom, so use them to guide you.
Be careful, once you reach an area where you are no longer on top of trees, you will be attacked by hands of gloom. They are terrible creatures, which can be easily dealt with by bombs. They won’t follow you to much higher ground. If there’s a cliff edge nearby, climb onto it. In this particular case, use bomb arrows to damage the hands while also creating fire for an updraft. Don’t let them grab you. If they grab you, wiggle your joysticks to break out quickly. Once you defeat them, however, there is a chance they will turn into Phantom Ganon. Using flurry rushes and elemental attacks will defeat this scourge easily.
Once you make it through this area, you will likely see a lightroot and a ceiling that is close to the ground. Claim the lightroot and then ascend through the close ceiling to get into the Korok Forest. Open the shrine nearby and you’ll be able to come back whenever you want.
