After getting home from seeing Rogue One on opening night I looked into Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes and what did I find? The Tier 6 AAT Raid has been rebalanced! While it has been discussed since it was released and everyone got punched in the mouth by the AAT, the actual implementation may have some rethinking how they fight the AAT moving forward. So what does this mean for you? Here are a few of my observations as a PTP who also helps out his son on a (very high level) FTP account.
- Rebels continue to be awesome. If you have not farmed out an awesome crew of Rebels then shame on you. Rebels Rebels Rebels Rebels Rebels Rebels Rebels Rebels Rebels Rebels Rebels. Get the point? You should. If not, go farm out the Rebels – start with Ackbar, Leia, Stormtrooper Han, Wedge Antilles, Biggs Darklighter and Lando Calrissian then gear and mod them up and have fun!
- General Grievous hits right through foresight. I believe he did this before as well, but I am not 100% sure. Honestly, I have no idea why you even have a buff like foresight in the game if the advantage does not work against some specific characters, but these are the rules we are given by our Master. Vader didn’t question Sidious/Palpatine, so who am I to question EA Games…
- Jaws less valuable? I put my Jawa crew in and did a lot of what they usually do for me on Phase 1, yet the damage was about 150k below what I did the previous two battles on Phase 1 before the rebalance.
- Better for FTP & low-budget PTP. If you are a Free to Play (FTP) user or spend a little, but not a lot on SWGoH, this is good for you, especially if you have a strong roster from grinding. If fought three battles with my son’s FTP account and hit over 460k – about triple what he would have done in the past.
- Hard hitters without AOE attacks may be more valuable. If you have a strong Rey, Anakin or other high-offense character this could be a good change for you.
- Fewer hit points for Grievous’ support. The IG-100 MagnaGuards and the ultra-annoying B2 Super Battle Droid all have significantly fewer hit points, thus making things a lot easier when you want to clear them out and focus on Grievous alone.
- Tactical Maneuvering can now be dispelled. Just for fun I used Qui-Gon Jinn to try and remove General Grievous’ Tactical Maneuvering buff and it worked, unlike in the past. This will make QGJ and Mace Windu both more valuable.
Update: Here is my new piece about the HUGE gap from the rebalanced AAT to the Heroic AAT – EA screwed that up!
