Welcome to the best mods for Mace Windu, another article in our series about Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for individual characters. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every toon I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations based on the character’s kit and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables.

Today’s hero to review mods for will be Mace Windu – Master of the Jedi High Council in Episodes I, II and III. Historically a non-taunting Jedi tank in SWGoH, Windu is also a Fleet Commander in charge of the Endurance. When compared to the historic SWGoH META, Mace Windu has been highly ineffective and underpowered given his rank and importance in the Star Wars universe, but all of that changed in early 2022. While he was revived a bit by the addition of Jedi Master Kenobi in 2021 and is required at Relic 3 to unlock JMK, the early 2022 rework of Mace Windu in SWGoH has fundamentally changed the character. Let’s take a look at how mods can have the greatest impact on Mace Windu’s kit in the game today.

Main Focus: Speed has been the go-to main focus on 90-95% of all characters in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, but with Mace Windu’s character no longer being crappy in SWGoH, the goal should be to make him as tanky as possible, and Health should be a main focus stat from mods. The most effective teams I have faced have had their Mace Windu loaded up with Health and Defense, but the rework really put more value on Health, so focus first on Health as your main survivability stat and go from there.

Additional Areas to Focus: More survivability, Tenacity, Potency and some Offense. Other than his strong base Resistance stat, Mace Windu still remains mid to low compared to the rest of the characters in SWGoH for survivability stats, so beef them all up. Again, Health should be first, but added Defense, Protection and Tenacity are strong plays here too. Potency will help him land the Speed Down debuff and better utilize his still somewhat underwhelming Shatterpoint debuff, but I would not sacrifice any major survivability gains for added minimal Potency gains. Finally, added Offense is not a bad idea given the way the Resilient Defense buff works. Mace gains +10% Offense per stack and +100% Counter Chance, so adding Offense will make this even more effective.

In-game Mod Recommendation: Health remains the only mod type recommended for Mace Windu. Previously I felt like the kit needed more than just Health mods, but with the rework this feels like the best route to go to boost that Health stat as much as possible. Using both Health and Defense mods is not a bad idea, but do not just go with Health because the game told you to if you have good Defense mods available.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Mace Windu:

Mace Windu is now relevant in the game as a tank on a Jedi Master Kenobi team and in other teams too, so make him as tanky as possible to benefit from the added Health in his kit and the added Health and Protection up from JMK’s leadership. If Health mods are where your mod inventory is strongest that could also be the direction you take, but Defense mods are definitely in play here. Here  are my mod recommendations for Mace Windu:

• Transmitter (Square) – Health mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on health, defense, protection & tenacity
• Receiver (Arrow) – Health mod with a primary focus on health or speed and a secondary focus on health, defense, protection & tenacity or speed
• Processor (Diamond) – Health mod with defense primary and a secondary focus on health, defense, protection & tenacity or speed
• Holo-Array (Triangle) – Health mod with a primary focus on health and a secondary focus on health, defense, protection & speed
• Data-Bus (Circle) – Health mod with a primary focus on health and a secondary focus on health, defense, protection & tenacity
• Multiplexer (Plus) – Health mod with a primary focus on health and a secondary focus on health, defense, protection & speed
