SWGoH: Best Mods for Scout Trooper

Scout Trooper - SWGoH

Welcome to the best mods for Scout Trooper – the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mod sets & stats for each SWGoH character. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every character I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations and they are certainly not the only options for modding this character. However we look to help players maximize their rosters in SWGoH and we are always open to feedback if you have a mod setup that works well with your gameplay.

Scout Trooper - SWGoHToday’s character to review mods for will be Scout Trooper – the 5th member of the Imperial Remnant faction in SWGoH. Scout Trooper comes to Galaxy of Heroes designed to round out the Imperial Remnant faction (for now) and boost Iden Versio in GAC so that Wampa can no longer solo her team. She was added to Galaxy of Heroes in August 2023 to continue the requirements for the new Galactic Legend Leia Organa that will be released later this year. Let’s take a look at what mods will best enhance Scout Trooper in Galaxy of Heroes.

Main Focus: With a strong base Speed of 185, Scout Trooper comes in as a borderline Top 20 speed character, and anyone in the top 50% of base speeds in SWGoH should always at least consider Speed mods given the importance of Speed in this game. As you look at her kit of abilities, the ability to boost teammates and debuff enemies are clear immediately, and we can see that being under Stealth enhances her abilities. As a result, a set of four Speed mods must be in play for Scout Trooper so that she can get her turn quickly, likely using Strategic Assessment to go under Stealth and boost her teammates for the battle.

Additional Areas to Focus: Potency, Offense & survivability in the forms of Health and Protection. Potency is a no-brainer with Scout Trooper as the Accuracy Down, Speed Down, Expose, Stagger and Daze debuffs are all in play with her kit, with the Daze not being able to be resisted, thus the anti-Wampa mention above. As a result the Multiplexer (Plus) mod should be a Potency primary.

In terms of survivability, as I have mentioned before, the Health/Protection debate from the circle mod (Data-Bus) is where we see the sloppiest modding in SWGoH. There are certain factions, characters and specific leaders who really change where your focus should be. For Scout Trooper and the Imperial Remnant as currently constructed, Health and Protection are the more important survivability stats. Under a Moff Gideon lead, Dark Side allies have +30% Max Health and +30% Max Protection, plus added Offense, and under an Iden Version lead Imperial Troopers gain +35% Max Health and Max Protection. As a result I would ignore Defense and stick to mods with strong Health and Protection percentage gains when possible, and the circle mod (Data-Bus) can go either way. In addition, adding Offense is not bad, but this may come down to the user’s own mod inventory for the primary focus of the Holo-Array (Triangle) mod. I used a Health primary with a strong Speed secondary and will test this out to start.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Speed & Potency. One of my favorite pieces of writing for Gaming-fans.com about SWGoH is reading through the kit of a new character and trying to decipher which mods are best for that character before I go to the dev recommendations in-game. I do this a lot in coaching youth sports – try to allow the other coaches to say what they think before I express my thoughts, only in this case I purposely avoid the dev recommendations 95% of the time and come to my own conclusion first. Scout Trooper is one of those characters that aligned perfectly with both my thoughts and the developer recommendations.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Scout Trooper:

Scout Trooper will make Imperial Troopers more relevant in SWGoH and rounds out the Imperial Remnant faction, for now, the real question is just how much impact she will have. As I look at Scout Trooper’s stats and kit, I recommend the following mod approach:

  • Transmitter (Square) – Speed mod with a primary focus on offense and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and protection or offense
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Potency mod with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on health, potency, offense and protection
  • Processor (Diamond) – Speed mod with a primary focus on defense and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and protection or offense
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Potency mod with a primary focus on critical damage, offense, health or protection and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and protection or offense
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Speed mod with a primary focus on health or protection and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and protection or offense
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Speed mod with a primary focus on potency and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and protection or offense
