SWGoH: Best Mods for Tusken Raider

SWGoH - Tusken Raider

Welcome to the best mods for Tusken Raider, the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for SWGoH characters. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every character I write about extensively.

SWGoH - Tusken RaiderToday’s character to review mods for will be Tusken Raider. One of three Tuskens in SWGoH when this was first published in 2018, a mid-2022 update giving the Tusken Raider the first Omicron upgrade for 3v3 GAC in SWGoH finally made this Tusken trio somewhat relevant with a stronger focus on the Grand Arena Championships. With this in mind we will now take a look at the best mods for the Tusken Raider with his new Omicron ability.

Main Focus: It is hard to argue that Speed is a top priority given how slow the three Tuskens are. Tusken Raider’s 141 base Speed is the slowest of the trio, and given the Omicron causes him to gain Taunt to start a battle, his role is now to start soaking up some damage. Yes, there is a Speed gain for his allies from defeating him, but this is not a character to use your best Speed mods on. As a result it seems that survivability stats are a good investment and that means Health, Protection, Defense and maybe even Critical Avoidance. With no sandbox mode in SWGoH there is no way to see just how durable the Tusken Raider can be we can only rely on what we know. His base Health, Protection and Armor stats are mid-level at best, so he will need some real help from the mods to make this team viable in the GAC.

Additional Areas to Focus: Potency, Offense, Tenacity, Speed and more survivability. The Tusken Raider’s unique grants additional Offense to Tusken allies, so I recommend you follow the route of Offense over CC/CD, just like in the mods needed for URoRRuR’R’R. Potency will help make his basic more effective given the 55% chance to remove 50% turn meter. Tenacity will help him use his special ability and call an ally to assist, but I would not overdo things with Tenacity. Speed is not something to ignore, I just would not go out of your way to find +20 speed secondaries to remove from others and put on Tusken Raider. Finally, while testing is needed, I feel like that survivability boost is going to be huge since the Tusken Raider will now taunt, so I recommend really pouring it on with Health, Protection and Defense to make him as tanks as possible. Since many will already have him at Relic 5 from the Lord Vader Galactic Legend requirements, his stats should be solid, just be sure not to use crap mods on Tusken Raider if you are planning to apply an Omicron to his Strength in Numbers unique and use in the GAC. Note that in 5v5 battles, Defense will be a key stat now thanks to the Tusken Chieftain’s leadership ability which sees Tenacity and Defense increase with each stack of Momentum on Tusken allies.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Offense & Tenacity. We’re a little outdated here CG, but this may have been a good recommendation when the Tusken Raider was a worthless character at the bottom of a player’s roster. Testing will tell us more, but this feels like it needs an update.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Tusken Raider:

The “ideal mod setup” can be interpreted a few different ways. If you target survivability stats as well as some Offense and Potency through the mods this could work out well a number of different ways. Here is my preferred mod setup for Tusken Raider:

  • Transmitter (Square) – Health/Potency mod with offense primary and speed, health, potency and protection or defense
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Health/Defense mod with a speed primary and focus on potency, defense, health and protection
  • Processor (Diamond) – Health/Potency mod with defense primary and focus on speed, health, potency and protection or defense
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Health/Defense mod with health, protection or defense primary and focus on speed, health, potency and protection or defense
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Health/Defense mod with health or protection primary and focus on speed, health, potency and protection or defense
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Health/Defense mod with a primary focus on potency, health, protection or defense and a secondary focus on speed, health, potency and protection or defense
