Welcome to the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for each SWGoH character. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every toon I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations and they are certainly not the only option. However we look to help players maximize their characters in SWGoH and we are always open to feedback if you have a mod setup that works well of your gameplay.
Today’s character to review mods for will be the Bounty Hunter Bossk. The newest Bounty Hunter in SWGoH at the time of this writing, Bossk if the first taunting tank in the Bounty Hunter faction and has a fantastic kit. How you mod Bossk depends on how you plan to use him – as a leader or under a Boba Fett lead. As a result this guide will give you both options which, of course, you can feel free to customize as your experiences using Bossk lead you. Of course the addition of Embo to SWGoH will also impact things, so stay tuned for more.
Bossk Mods – Option A
Main Focus: Speed. Focus on Speed first, then Offensive stats (Offense, CC, CD) when using Bossk under a Boba Fett lead or under an Embo lead since he is also offensively-focused. In the current, pre-mod rework world of SWGoH you will want solid Speed on Bossk to ensure he is hitting more often while still protecting his Bounty Hunter teammates.
Additional Areas to Focus: Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Offense and survivability in the forms of Health, Protection and Defense. Bossk’s basic, Prey On The Weak, deals double damage when you target the weakest enemy and is a guaranteed Critical Hit, so adding Critical Damage will only make this hit harder. Under a Boba Fett lead all allies gain 50% CD and 10% CC, so adding to Bossk’s stats here will only make his attacks more effective. Under a Embo lead all Bounty Hunters gain 50% Counter Chance and also gain Offense Up when they score a Critical Hit. Thus, CC and offensive stats are going to suit Bossk the best. Survivability is always essential for a tank, so enhancing all three stats – Defense, Heath and Protection – is a wise move. His Trandoshan Rage unique grants him +50% Defense and +50% Max Health while he has Taunt, so beef both of these stats. Bossk also receives 5% Health and 5% Protection at the start of his turn and 2.5% of both when a Bounty Hunter ally starts a turn whenever he receives reward from a Contract per his Bossk’s Payout unique. More Offense means he will hit harder throughout, but especially against buffed enemies, per the Trandoshan Rage unique.
Bossk Mods – Option B
Main Focus: Survivability. If you plan to use Bossk as the leader of your Bounty Hunters, I suggest survivability as the main focus to keep him and the team alive. With a Zeta, Bossk’s On The Hunt leader ability reads “All Bounty Hunters gain +50% Max Protection and +50% Tenacity. All Bounty Hunter allies gain +100% Defense while at full Health. Whenever an enemy suffers a debuff or Resists, all Bounty Hunter allies recover 5% Health and Protection.” Thus, Defense, Health and Protection are all your friends in Option B.
Additional Areas to Focus: Speed, Critical Chance, Critical Damage and Offense. Bossk’s basic, Prey On The Weak, deals double damage when you target the weakest enemy and is a guaranteed Critical Hit, so adding CC and CD will benefit you given there is no CC or CD boost without the Boba Fett lead. More Offense means he will hit harder throughout, but especially against buffed enemies, per the Trandoshan Rage unique. Finally, Speed is not a stat that will go away when the mod update comes, it simply will have a bit less value. I suggest adding Speed in the secondary stats and from the arrow mod to at least get Bossk to a respectable level.
In-game Mod Suggestions: N/A.
Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Bossk:
The “ideal mod setup” can be interpreted a few different ways. I have labeled an Option A and Option B based on how you choose to use Bossk with his Bounty Hunter allies. Here are my recommendations for mods on Bossk in SWGoH:
- Transmitter (Square) – Health mod with offense primary and (A) speed, health, critical chance and protection or (B) speed, health, defense and protection
- Receiver (Arrow) – Health mod with +30 speed and (A) health, critical chance and protection or (B) health, defense and protection
- Processor (Diamond) – Health mod with defense primary and (A) speed, health, critical chance and protection or (B) speed, health, defense and protection
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – Health mod with +36% critical damage and (A) health, critical chance and protection or (B) health, defense and protection
- Data-Bus (Circle) – Health mod with health primary and (A) speed, health, critical chance and protection or (B) speed, health, defense and protection
- Multiplexer (Plus) – Health mod with (A) offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, health, critical chance and protection or (B) defense/health primary and a secondary focus on speed, health, defense and protection
