SWGoH: Best Mods for Qi’ra

SWGoH - Imperial Troopers w/Range Trooper

Welcome to the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for each SWGoH character. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every toon I write about extensively.

As the leader of the “Prepared Squad,” Qi’ra brings a lot to the table. Her basic ability, Deadly Double, is a two hit attack which can inflict Offense Down, Daze, and even deal 10% of the targets health as bonus damage depending on how many crit hits are scored. Her first special, Scattering Blast, is an AoE attack that dispels buffs from her primary target (or all enemies, if Qi’ra is prepared), inflicts Stagger on all enemies, and does more damage for each buffed enemy. Her second special, Joint Operation, calls an ally of your choosing to assist, with bonus damage if you call a Scoundrel ally, gives both attacks a chance to inflict expose, and if Qi’ra is prepared, calls all other prepared allies to assist.

Her unique, Insult to Injury, gives Qi’ra an extra 40% potency while attacking a target with no debuffs, and an extra 30% crit damage if the target is debuffed.  On top of this, Qi’ra gains the prepared buff, 15% TM, and a Health Steal Up buff if any enemy suffered more than one critical hit during her turn. With a Zeta ability, all scoundrel allies will also gain half the potency and crit damage boost.

Qi’ra’s leader ability, Tools of the Trade, gives scoundrel allies +20% crit chance, and 1o% protection recovery and a bonus (10% offense to attackers, 20% crit avoidance to tanks, and 20 speed to support/healers) that can stack three times each time they score a critical hit.

There’s a lot going on in this kit, and modding to take advantage of it all is important.

Main Focus: Crit Chance and Speed. Qi’ra gains multiple bonuses from critical hits (including gaining the Prepared buff and turn meter if two crits happen during her turn), so getting her to 100% crit chance is the most important thing here. She has a fairly high base chance, and if you’re running her as leader (and you should be), she gains an addition 20%, so maxing it out won’t be hard. Beyond this, you should, as always, be stacking as much Speed as possible. Qi’ra has a powerful kit, and to take advantage of it, you want her to have as many turns as possible.

Additional Areas to Focus: Crit Damage, Potency, and Survivability. With (hopefully) 100% crit chance, maxing out critical damage is a huge damage boost, so after Speed and Crit Chance, that should be your top priority. Not only will this increase her damage, it will help keep her alive as well, as she not only has a nice health steal stat, but she will gain a Health Steal Up buff frequently. Potency is also an important stat to boost. While Qi’ra gains a bonus 40% Potency from her unique, Insult to Injury, if her target has no debuffs, it’s important that the debuffs will also be applied the rest of the time. The final area to work on is survivability. Qi’ra is able to recover Health when she attacks, and if she’s the squad leader, Protection when she scores critical hit, so the size of the increase is more important than which stat you’re increasing.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Qi’ra:

Because we’re maxing out Qi’ras critical chance, a critical damage set will greatly increase her damage output, which in turn, will help keep her alive through health steal. Because of this, I recommend a crit damage set over a speed set, as the speed can be gained through secondary stats instead. With this in mind, the mod setup I recommend is as follows:

  • Transmitter (Square) – Critical Damage/Chance mod with an offense primary, and a secondary focus on crit chance, speed, and survivability.
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Critical Damage/Chance mod with a +30 speed primary – any other stats gained are a bonus, but crit chance is preferred.
  • Processor (Diamond) – Critical Damage/Chance mod with a defense primary, and a secondary focus on crit chance, speed, and survivability.
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Critical Damage/Chance mod with a +36% Critical Damage primary – any other stats gained are a bonus, but speed is greatly preferred.
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Critical Damage/Chance mod with a protection primary, and a secondary focus on crit chance, speed, and survivability.
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Critical Damage/Chance mod with a potency or protection primary, and a secondary focus on crit chance, speed, and survivability.

Note: Transmitter, Processor and Data-Bus mods are MUCH more common. If you can maximize the stats from these using a MK V, Tier A mod that is ideal.
