SWGoH: Rise of the Empire – Phase 1 Special Mission with Qi’ra & Young Han Solo

SWGoH - Rise of the Empire Territory Battle - Special Mission

The newest Territory Battles are here as the Rise of the Empire Territory Battle was launched in December 2022. Unlike previous Territory Battles in SWGoH, the Rise of the Empire TB features Light Side, Dark Side and Neutral paths and Platoons are now called Operations.

The Rise of the Empire Territory Battle features six Phases which last 24 hours each. Each of the six Phases of the event has a Special Mission rewarding Mk III Guild Event Tokens in Phases 1, 2 and 4, 5 and 6 and Reva (Third Sister) shards in Phase 3.

The following is a Walkthrough of my experiences in Phase 1 that will be updated over time. Specifically, this covers the lone Special Mission in Phase 1 which is in the middle (Neutral) section of the map and requires both Qi’ra & Young Han Solo at Relic 5 or higher.

Phase 1 Combat Mission Requirements:

  • Qi’ra & Young Han Solo – Relic 5+

My Roster of Characters:

  • Total Power – 133k
  • Qi’ra – Relic 5 – 26,832 power
  • L3-37 – Relic 7 – 29,257 power
  • Vandor Chewbacca – Relic 5 – 26,130
  • Enfys Nest – Relic 5 – 25,797 power
  • Young Han Solo – Relic 5 – 25,707 power

Phase 1 Neutral Combat Mission with Qi’ra & Young Han Solo Battle Notes:

12.13.22 – I woke up this morning and decided to keep the lights on at EA Capital Games, taking both Qi’ra and Young Han Solo from Relic 3 to Relic 5 despite being low on signal data, so I did something I rarely do on signal data and I bought them so that I could publish this the first time around. This walkthrough will show what you can do with the near bare minimum for this Special Mission, the only SM in Phase 1. Note that I did switch up my mods to give myself a better chance, giving Qi’ra the mods that Han Solo uses in my normal gameplay (CC & CD), switching Jango Fett’s (Offense) mods to Young Han Solo and beefing up Vandor Chewie’s Speed and Health with Sith Eternal Emperor’s mods.

Battle time and the Imperial enemies come out firing on L3. Qi’ra dispels the Stormtrooper taunt, VC grants Protection Up to L3 and I start my attacks, using Young Han’s middle ability when available and having L3 get to Mk III as quickly as possible. I take out the Recon Stormtrooper on the right first, but have to work around the Strormtrooper’s taunts, taking out the enemies one-by-one, making sure to hit any enemies with Defense Down to improve my efficiency. With  just the Stormtrooper Commander left at the end I am able to refresh my cooldowns going into the second and final wave.

The second wave of Imperials has Genera Veers with Colonel Starck and more. I focus on Starck and find that the battle is a back-and-forth of them hitting L3 and her counters for quite some time, but I am able to survive the AoE attacks and kill Starck. I find that Veers is pretty thick and TFP hits hard with his AoE, so I decide to kill TFP. After doing so I start to get comfortable and find that I should not as I see Young Han and L3 revive because they were prepared as I struggle to keep Qi’ra alive. I kill off the Stormtrooper on the right (Commander maybe?) and decide that I have to deal with Veers. Fortunately I remember how the Prepared mechanic works, get another Prepared on L3 before they kill her, she revives, and I take out Veers leaving two Stormtroopers at the end. This still is not time to get comfortable as these Stormtroopers pack a punch, but in the end I am able to walk away with the Mk III Guild Event Tokens I sought out before as I get the win.

My Roster of Characters:

  • Total Power – 133k
  • Qi’ra – Relic 5 – 26,832 power
  • L3-37 – Relic 7 – 29,496 power
  • Vandor Chewbacca – Relic 7 – 29,463 power
  • Rey – Relic 9 – 54,444 power
  • Young Han Solo – Relic 5 – 25,707 power

01.09.23 – After my first battle went so well and my second battle was not as great (so I failed to even write about it), my guild is in a good enough spot now on stars in the first Phase to allow for some experimenting. Today I test out Qi’ra, L3, Young Han and Vandor Chewie with Rey. Note Vendor Chewie is now Relic 7 and L3-37 has some slightly upgraded mods as well as I had not originally planned to add Rey to this battle so I was building up the team for consistency.

To the battle, boosting the survivability of L3 is huge and the Protection Up from Rey and VChewie. Rey kills the TIE Pilot and I take out the Scout Trooper and with the Protection Up these Troopers cannot even dent my team. I patiently trade shots using just basics to kill the last two off so that my cooldowns are perfect for the second wave of enemies.

I Whirlwind Veers to start and surprisingly he survives with protection remaining, so the TIE Fighter Pilot is my new target. Rey’s new turn she protects the team and the surprisingly durable enemies finally drop a member when I kill the TIE Pilot. Another Rey Ultimate does not provide a kill, as the battle drags on, but I have so much Protection Up that I am not going to lose unless I do something stupid. Stormtrooper taunt pre annoying, and Rey kills one with a WW, and I finally get Qi’ra to dispel the other to kill off Strack. With Veers, a Commander and a regular Stormtrooper left, I am able to finish off Veers and put it on Auto as I cruise to another Special Mission win.

My Roster of Characters:

  • Total Power – 144k
  • Qi’ra – Relic 5 – 26,865 power
  • L3-37 – Relic 7 – 29,496 power
  • Vandor Chewbacca – Relic 7 – 29,479 power
  • Hondo Ohnaka – Relic 7 – 32,361 power
  • Young Han Solo – Relic 5 – 26,130 power

01.24.23 – Fighting this mission for the 4th time, I have 2 wins and a loss, but a 1-1 record without a Galactic Legend. Today I look for a different lineup that works, utilizing a newer character in Hondo Ohnaka who I have invested heavily in. Without the safety net of Rey in the lineup I an interested to see how it goes…

I take a couple of hits and then place Captive on the Stormtrooper Commander, and a couple of turns later they kill Young Han. What a downer. Not have YH’s offense in this battle is gonna make it tough, but I start ramping up Hondo’s stacks of Ransom. I take out the Scout Trooper then they temporarily kill Qi’ra who revives thanks to being Prepared. As always, I try to keep L3 taunting and with this lineup I work to get Hondo’s stacks higher to gain added as I make it through the first wave of enemies.

Facing the second wave I start hitting Starck and save Qi’ra’s buff dispel for after the Stormtrooper taunts, unlike in the first wave where I goofed up. Here I use Captive on Veers but as the battle wears on the AoE attacks from TFP, Starck and Veers start to take a toll. I kill Starck then flirt with disaster as Qi’ra is again revived by being Prepared, then lose her for good. The enemies gang up on me killing everyone but Hondo as his stacks get to 50, but while he lasts for about another minute and a half, he eventually cannot take the hits and dies as I fail once again.

02.07.23 – Fighting this once again with the lineup that included Rey and was successful, I pay closer attention to L3-37’s abilities than I ever have in 3+ years of using the character. This, and the extra power from having a Galactic Legend in the battle, allows me to get an easy win.

11.28.23 – Over the 9-10 months since my last update I have fought this battle at every RotE Territory Battle played in the game and have not faltered a single time. The lineup of Qi’ra, L3-37, Vandor Chewbacca, Rey and Young Han Solo, with some improved mods on Qi’ra, Vendor Chewie and Young Han have never even allowed this to be a contested fight.
