SWGoH: Rise of the Empire – Phase 1 Neutral Combat Mission with Doctor Aphra

Doctor Aphra - Rise of the Empire Territory Battle - SWGoH

The newest Territory Battles are here as the Rise of the Empire Territory Battle was launched in December 2022. Unlike previous Territory Battles in SWGoH, the Rise of the Empire TB features Light Side, Dark Side and Neutral paths and Platoons are now called Operations and character used in Operations now have minimum Relic levels.

The Rise of the Empire Territory Battle features six Phases which last 24 hours each. Each of the six Phases of the event has a Special Mission rewarding Mk III Guild Event Tokens in Phases 1, 4, 5 and 6 and Reva (Third Sister) shards in Phase 3.

The following is a Walkthrough of my experiences in Phase 1 that will be updated over time. Specifically, this covers the Neutral Combat Mission that requires Doctor Aphra and teammates at Relic 5 or higher.

Phase 1 Neutral Combat Mission Battle Notes:

01.09.23 – Fighting in the Rise of the Empire Territory Battle in SWGoH with Doctor Aphra for the first time, I first upgrade two mods on IG-88 to speed him up a bit. I take the five above in and start with Aphra’s 3rd ability which applies Doubt to all enemies, then I summon the Hacked Commando Droid. I put Torture on the Stormtrooper as he is settee taunt, then Vader goes into MM and starts to wreak havoc. I take a couple of hits as the enemies seem poised to attack 0-0-0, but Vader followed by a AoE from IG-88 make this first wave rather easy.

The second wave of enemies features more Imperials and my cooldowns are not in a great spot so my opening moves do very little and 0-0-0 is in yellow health. Vader goes into MM and kills the Scout Trooper and BT-1 spreads Burning as I get stuck behind a Stormtrooper’s taunt. I lose 0-0-0, but Aphra revives him, and I put hits on the Imperial Officer. He kills 0-0-0 again and DV goes into MM once again as I kill the Officer and have just a Recon and Commander Stormtrooper left. From here I have enough to clean them up and do so with ease for another 200k Territory Points.

02.07.23 – Fighting this again after mistakenly deploying both IG-88 and IPD into the Operations, I have Aphra with her buddies 0-0-0 and BT-1 and joining them are Dark Trooper (r6) and Darth Vader (r7). The Aphra moves are the same and BT takes the next turn with his middle ability spreading Expose and allowing him to go again. This combo of attacks allows 0-0-0 to kill the TFP on the end with a basic as Vader and Dark Trooper kill off enemies and my team finishes them off.

I take some hits to start the second wave and lose my Commando Droid as the Stormtrooper’s taunt causes problems. I kill the Scout Trooper but lose Vader and BT goes crazy, but I am still stuck behind that taunt. After I lose BT the battle is basically over as it is just a matter of time. 100k points is all I can score as a result.

Lesson learned – take the right five into this battle as IPD would have been VERY helpful here.

My Roster of Characters:

  • Total Squad Power – 149k
  • Doctor Aphra – Relic 5
  • 0-0-0 – Relic 7
  • BT-1 – Relic 6
  • Imperial Probe Droid – Relic 5
  • Darth Vader – Relic 7

02.21.23 – I make some upgrades to IPD’s mods and go to work. I go into battle with the typical Aphra start to debuff all and then call the Hacked Commando Droid, then BT’s middle followed by 3rd ability are incredibly effective. From here I see that I am in a good place and use basics to finish the first wave off as this was crazy easy.

The second wave sees BT start with a basic and then I start to work down the enemies. I save IPD’s AoE buff removal as I expect I will need it soon, and Torture my first target, the Scout Trooper. Vader goes into MM and kills the Scout Trooper with a saber throw then the enemies get attacks in and remove most of my team’s protection. BT-1’s continued offense and AoE attacks end up being the key in this battle as I get a rather easy win for the 200k Territory Points.
