The 4th mission of the Dark Dimension VI – Shifting Darkness has 44 enemies and 304 million health to work through. Like mission #3, we now have specific groups to use, with Missions 3, 4 and 5 requiring Global characters. My team available to start is Apocalypse, Gambit, Titania, Wong, Captain America (Sam) and Maria Hill as I continue the Gaming-fans.com Dark Dimension 6 Live Blogs & Walkthroughs.
I start off the 4th mission with Apocalypse, Gambit, Titania, Wong and Captain Sam for a total of 1,840,373 power as I face 44 enemies with a total of 304m health, nearly double the health of the last mission which took me 14 days to beat. For this first battle my team is not at full health after just finishing mission #3 moments ago.
To the battle, the enemies take several turns before I take a single turn as I am facing 10 on-screen enemies, including Deathpool, Squirrel Girl, Groot, Shuri, two Ghost Riders, Domino, Deadpool, Doctor Voodoo and a SHIELD Security. I lose Wong first as Gambit marks Domino as the weakest immediately and continues to barrage her with his. Ghost Rider takes out my Gambit as his strategy to go all-in on Domino was effective up until his death, and as my team falls apart I have Apocalypse getting a basic in just before dying as he should have a ultimate up soon tomorrow. All 44 enemies remain with 301m health left.
My second battle will be a focus on getting that 44 enemy count down. Wong starts by hitting Domino with counters then Gambit does what is needed, removing the buff to dodge and keeping Heal Block on her despite the Defense Up that comes from her allies. I lose Wong early and keep plugging away, with Captain Sam taunting to eat some hits to make this work. Gambit kills Domino right before Captain Same dies, and once the enemies have free rein to hit anyone they kill Gambit and Titania leaving just Apocalypse. With 43 enemies left he hits Squirrel Girl, she heals, then he hits her again before I die which I believe will make her the weakest enemy on-screen in tomorrow’s battle, a battle that Apocalypse will have an ultimate ready for.
Major MSF Upgrade: My 3rd battle will come after I see if I can finish upgrading Apocalypse to 7-stars as I finished getting the Iso-8 materials last night. After about an hour of fighting and notes, my Apocalypse was upgraded 4 times. First from 323k to 352k thanks to lucky timing of getting the Dark Promotion credits to upgrade him from 6 star, 4 red star to a 5th red star. Then, from 352k to 388k from adding the 7th yellow star. I then added his Awakened abilities to boost him from 388k to 407k and finally, with the spoils of the battles, I upgraded his Iso-8 from t2, level 4 to t2, level 5 which now has him at 429,959 power alone.
For the 3rd battle, I look to be more effective than the first two battles and now have a team that checks in at 1,947,332 power. Squirrel Girl heals on spawn, killing yesterday’s plan, but after a couple of hits from the enemies, Apocalypse is up with his ultimate. Great timing… I target SG and get to use the bonus attack immediately, targeting her of course, and while this does not kill her, Gambit does a couple of retaliatory attacks later. With 42 enemies remaining, 8 on-screen, and a great start, SHIELD Security is taunting so I take advantage of the debuffs on the enemies and try to use AoE and similar attacks. Apoc’s basic adds to this nicely, and once I get past the taunt I have Titania Ability Block Shuri, but a new taunt comes after this. Apocalypse is up again and Ability Blocks Groot as I look to prevent healing and cleansing, and Captain Sam taunts. I kill Groot, he revives, then I work to kill him for real and lose Captain Sam, but I continue to land impactful hits. I kill the SHIELD Security as 40 enemies remain but lose Gambit as I am nearing the end of this one. I land basics on Shuri to try and keep her weak, but she heals at the end and screws up a lot of progress. In the end 40 enemies and 277m health remains.
Battle #4 is here as I have to admit I am more excited about these battles now knowing I have “a chance.” Really I know I do not have “a chance,” but the stronger Apocalypse has me fooled for at least a few days into thinking I do… After several enemy attacks Apocalypse is up with an ultimate which is an awesome start, and I target a Ghost Rider and follow with the big hit and kill him. Titania is up with her Ability Block, and I use it on the weaker of the two Shuri enemies as reinforcement arrive. With 39 enemies left and 8 on-screen, Apocalypse his the new SHIELD Security as Gambit’s counters target the weaker Shuri into yellow health. Once I get past the taunt I hit Shuri again and then Gambit’s ultimate kills her as 38 remain and SS is taunting again. The enemies take a few turns and Wong is up, hitting Deadpool and killing him off as 37 remain. Apocalypse hits the remaining Shuri and makes her Gambit’s new target and things start to fall apart. A detrimental Blind on Gambit starts a chain of kills of my team and before I know it the enemies are too much, as I finish with 37 enemies left, 7 on-screen and 253m health to go.
My 5th battle starts with the enemies attacking a few times and then it is my turn with Apocalypse up with an ultimate ready. As I evaluate enemies on-screen, my goal is to eliminate threats, whether offensive or in the form of healers/cleansers. With 8 enemies on-screen and all at 100% health other than Doctor Voodoo at 90%, this is a tricky choice, but I decide to target Deathpool after the ultimate with the Empowered attack, as DP is the lone enemy with Defense Down and I want this attack to eliminate an enemy ASAP. It gets her to red health and Captain Sam taunts, as Gambit does his part and I finish her off on Wong’s turn. Gwenpool joins the enemy lineup and they take several turns as I lose Captain Sam, and Apocalypse is up with his special which I use to hit Cloak and Ability Block him, but Gwenpool then taunts. Luckily Gambit’s retaliatory hits do not worry about taunts as he is my only real offense as I await the taunt to wear off, but it is followed by a taunt from SHIELD Security as Cloak hovers around 50% health. A Gambit Heal Block nullifies Shuri’s attempt to heal Cloak and Apoc’s basic provides several nice attacks on the enemies in the area. Wong gets a nice hit on SS with his Defense up using his special to weaken him a lot and I get both Cloak and SS to red health as Apocalypse uses another basic and kills Cloak. This unravels what I have left and as I type my characters die, but I took out Cloak and Deathpool today and severely weakened the rest as 35 enemies and 220m health remains.
Battle #6 begins with Shuri healing multiple enemies immediately, taking SHIELD Security from red health to yellow and blistering Herselt and 3 others from yellow to green health. Luckily, my first turn is a Apocalypse ultimate and while I would prefer it was not targeting a taunting SS, the 8 enemies on-screen all end up with 3+ debuffs from the hit and the Empowered attack kills SS. Captain Sam’s AoE does some damage and Titania Ability Blocks Doc VooDoo as Gambit decides that DVD is his target. I get VooDoo down to red when another variant of Doctor VooDoo arrives to help the enemies out, and kill the weaker version with Apoc’s special that Ability Blocks Shuri. I finish off Shuri soon after as 32 enemies remain and move on to Morbius, another enemy still with Defense Down, finishing him off with an Apocalypse basic and Iso-8 bonus attack. Gambit’s AoE hits hard and Apoc’s next turn results in the finishing of Black Panther as 30 enemies remain now, 4 on-screen. Captain Sam taunts as I target Okoye, and once she is gone Gweenpool is the new target as the weakest on-screen. Once she goes Stealth, I target Ghost Rider beside her, but then he kills Captain Sam. I lose Wong while trying to finish Gweenpool and Apocalypse finally gets the job down, dropping the enemy count to 28 as 8 enemies arrive to reinforce. Titania steals buffs and dispels, and Gambit has targeted Ghost Rider, but the wheels fall off with this many enemies and they finish me off quickly once they have the number advantage. In the end 28 enemies and 190m health remains as I move forward.
Battle #7 and my early hits target Ghost Rider as the enemies get rolling and pile on the buffs, but Apocalypse is up with an ultimate as this DD parallels early Dark Dimension versions with Phoenix being massively impactful. Apocalypse debuffs the entire group of bad guys and his Empowered attack kills the weakest of the three Ghost Riders on-screen as Elsa Bloodstone & Doc VooDoo compete for the weakest enemy title. I lose both tanks, Wong and Captain Sam, as DVD emerges as the weakest enemy and Apocalypse gets him to yellow health before the enemies overwhelm my three and finish me off. 27 enemies and 180m health remains after a less successful battle today as I expect a few days like this with so many on-screen enemies.
The 8th battle sees me slightly stronger after a few Iso-8 upgrades to Captain Sam, as I check in at 1,948,459 power now. Doctor Doom heals on spawn an adds 3 Heal Over Time buffs plus Barrier, and a lot of yesterday’s progress is gone. Add to it that Wong is red health and stunned before I take a turn, and Captain Same is also red health and I am a bit frustrated, but I move forward as Apocalypse and Gambit are in very good shape and Titania is decent too. Apocalypse does his thing and kills Doctor VooDoo, then Captain Same heals a little and taunts as Titania Ability Blocks Cloak. Gambit is up and uses an ultimate and it all falls apart BUT, because I did not like this scenario I reset and try again. Here is the summary of what happens. This time, Doc VooDoo does not heal as much and I target Clark with Apoc’s hits but cannot kill him right away, I lose Wong as I focus down Cloak and then lose Captain Sam too. While this is going on, Doc VooDoo stays low on health and as I lose Gambit and see Apocalypse get low on health, I have DVD in red health as well. I fail to finish off DVD but leave him in low red health before I lose the battle, but in the end this time I feel much better with Cloak dead and 26 enemies left with 170m health remaining.
For the 9th time I will battle this group, thanking myself for going all-in on Apocalypse each morning when I get ready to fight. The enemies get several attacks before I can take a turn for this one, and of course I want attacks on my tanks, so a reset is necessary. My second attempt sees Gambit kill Doctor VooDoo with the first retaliatory hit of the battle to reduce the enemy count to 25, but Gambit is red health and stealth now when Apocalypse gets his opening turn ultimate. I target a Ghost Rider, and there are two on-screen for a total of 9 enemies I can see, but the Empowered bonus attack is not enough to kill GR. Sam taunts, Titania hits GR, he hits Sam and Gambit kills him with a counter, but the other GR laughs last, retaliating and killing Gambit. After a few enemy attacks my team is getting low on health and I am deciding between Elsa Bloodstone and GR for my target. An Apocalypse special blocks GR and weakens him to yellow and I lose Captain Sam and Wong in the next barrage of enemy attacks. Apocalypse and Titania get GR to red health, but the enemies are too much. In the end 24 enemies remain with 153m health to go.
Battle #10 after finally getting Captain Sam to t2, Level 5 Iso-8 so I now check in at 1,965,834, a gain of about 17k. I have 9 enemies facing me on-screen and 24 overall. The battle features a ton of enemy attacks to start, and Gambit eventually does away with the weakened Ghost Rider from yesterday as 23 enemies remain and Crystal is the new Gambit target. Apocalypse is up with his ultimate and with two Deathpools and a Dagger, I am weighing my options on who to kill next with Apocalypse. After the ultimate Apocalypse has the Empowered ability ready with Elsa Bloodstone and Crystal below 50% health and both Domino and a Deadpool right at 55% health or so, and a second Deadpool at around 80% health. I decide to go for a definite kill, but not the easiest option and I kill Domino just before Captain Sam taunts. I now target Crystal and finish her off rather quickly before it all falls apart, and quick thanks to two reinforcements. While 21 remain in total, I am back to 9 on-screen enemies and the new additions helped them kill off all but Apocalypse. Apocalypse stays alive for two more turns, keeping Elsa Bloodstone and one Deadpool around 50% health, but I end with 21 enemies and 144m health to go.
My 11th battle came on a busy, busy day so I am interpreting screenshots from yesterday into words today to try and bring you the “what happened” of the battle. Starting with 144m health across 21 enemies, 9 of those enemies started on-screen. Apocalypse was able to debuff the group and I had Elsa Bloodstone and Firestar rather weak in yellow/red health when the Empowered attack kills off a Deadpool. I then focused down the two mentioned before, letting Elsa go first, then having Apocalypse Ability Block Deathpool to also hit Firestar and the other adjacent enemies. Once I finished Firestar the enemy count was down to 18 total and I had a brief moment of hope as I only had 6 enemies on-screen and started to work Deathpool’s health down. While I was able to kill off Deathpool, then next sequence is where things started getting tricky, as both Gweenpool’s were a major pain in the butt to work around. I was able to get around them and hi Deadpool enough to finish him off, and at 16 enemies left the reinforcements all arrived. With 10 enemies now on-screen my team started falling apart and any damage I did at this point was nullified by Squirrel Girl and other buffs from the team. In the end 16 enemies and 120m health remains.
Battle #12 sees me go right after Squirrel Girl to remove the clean/heal ability, and while the Empowered attack does not kill her, I get her to red health and Titania Ability Blocks her for good measure. Captain Sam taunts and Gambit ends up finished SG off just before Spider-Weaver gets a charged. While Gambit seems to like to target Firestar, I know the importance of killing SW quickly, so I battle my own team here trying to weekend SW. When both SHIELD Security enemies taunts it proves annoying, but Apoc’s basic is awesome and just keeps hitting people. Titania steals the Defense Up from one SS and I keeping hitting him since I have only the other SS to choose from, and I now have Firestar, SW and SS all in yellow health. Another Apocalypse basic gets one SS to red health and Gambit finishes him off just before more charged from SW. Apocalypse is up with SW charged and in red health, but his basic is unavoidable and kills SW, then the resulting enemy attacks cause a retaliatory response from Gambit, killing Firestar and 12 enemies remain. Now Gwenpool is taunting, but I have both Wong and Captain Sam do the same to protect my team. While the Gambit target is a Gwenpool, I choose Deathpool instead and am able to clear her buffs and start working her health down. The other Gwenpool taunts, but Gambit uses his special to keep the pressure on Deathpool and get her to yellow health. However the next sequence of attacks see me lose Captain Sam and Wong, and Deathpool’s Heal Block wears off making this a bit more tricky than hoped. SS taunts and Gambit cannot get the Heal Block back on her, but this battle has been so long that Apocalypse is getting another ultimate. With 12 enemies left and 6 on-screen, he debuffs and hits the group and then kills Deathpool with his Empowered attack. Gambit’s ultimate follows as SS is the only one I can hit due to the taunt. After several hits SS is dead and the Gwenpool beside him is at yellow health, so I transition to her. Once she is dead I have 9 enemies remaining and 3 on-screen – 2 other Gwenpools and Dagger. Titania steals buffs and I go after the Dagger enemy while looking to weaken both Gwenpools as much as I can in case reinforcements arrive at 8. Another Apocalypse ultimate is up but I save it, maybe foolishly, as I finish off Dagger and get Gwenpool to red health. At 8 enemies reinforcements do come in 3 new enemies – another Dagger with Cloak and Doctor VooDoo. Apocalypse is up and the ultimate can now be used, which gets the weaker Gwenpool to low red health and the Empowered attack is used on Cloak to drop him to red health. A Gambit ultimate kills Gwenpool as 7 enemies remain, but then Cloak picks up dagger and does his thing, turning the tide. I lose Gambit shortly after and DVD adds barrier and it falls apart. Cloak does his things again, gets back to yellow health and kills my team off. In the end, 7 enemies and 46.9m health remain.
Lucky battle #13 comes on the same day as 12 as I have enough Dark Energy to heal 4 characters, so Wong stays on the bench and Maria Hill subs in for him. With Cloack as my focus, Apocalypse starts it off with the ultimate and just takes care of business, killing Cloak despite the lower health. Captain Sam taunts, Maria adds minions and DVD is my targe. His health declines quickly as I Ability Block Dagger beside him and work her health down simultaneously. When DVD dies the final 3 enemies appear as Squirrel Girl, Deathpool and a SHIELD Security all arrive. Looking to capitalize, Apocalypse uses a basic on Dagger to get her to red health, then SS taunts. When Titania is up she Ability Blocks SG and then I am able to go finish off Dagger. SG is now my target as Captain Sam taunts and I work around the enemy SS taunting as well. Several turns go by hitting SS, getting around the taunt to hit SG, then more taunts, until I finally kill off SS and fin d the right time for Maria Hill to heal the group. A few turns later, Apoc’s special Ability Blocks Deathpool and kills SG and this appears to be heading in the direction I had hoped for. I try to save special attacks and allow cooldowns to reset as I get rid of Deathpool after a while, allowing Maria to call minions to help in the attack, and while it takes a while using all of these basics, I finally get the win with a team ready to go for Mission #5. 2k Mega Orb Fragments, 1.25m Gold and 50 rocks (Augmented Omnium Ore) are my prize.
