For many players of Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes this morning there was an anticipation of launching the game, seeing notifications from their guildmates and the opportunity to experience something new. Since new becomes old very fast in a game like SWGoH, there’s no doubt that players across the globe changed their schedules around just to be ready for this moment. This moment, however, is no different than most any other in SWGoH as, for at least right now, Darth Revan and his event have not arrived, and our live blog of the Darth Revan event is also delayed as a result.
The Scourge of the Old Republic event was originally slated for today, March 21, 2019, before dev clarification commenting on their trailer video on March 15th (and later edited on March 20th) that stated:
The previous version of this video went live earlier today that contained a date of March 21st. This was posted in error and the date is not finalized at this point. The Scourge of the Old Republic event could start on this date, but there are still aspects we are finalizing, and we can’t commit to a date unless we are absolutely certain it will go live that day. That said, the event is highly likely to start in the next 1-2 weeks barring any major issues. Thank you for your understanding and hope you enjoy the trailer.
While we here at Gaming-fans.com will do our best to keep you posted, what the devs have to realize here is that their players actually schedule their real lives around this game that many Pay to Play. So having an event like this not take place as expected is borderline irresponsible and unprofessional. That having been said the environment that Capital Games works in is one that is dynamic and constantly changing, so my assumption is that there was a specific reason for the “delay” and this is not just the studio messing with their loyal player base.
o3.21.19 – A post on the EA SWGoH forums at 6:01 pm ET from Carrie indicates that the event has been pushed back until next week.
03.23.19 – A new post on the forums at 2:01 pm ET addresses the launch of the Darth Revan event, expected to be on March 25th at 2 pm ET.
