SWGoH: Best Mods for Han Solo

Han Solo SWGoH

Welcome to best mods for Han Solo in SWGoH, the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for each SWGoH character. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every toon I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations based on the character’s kit and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables.

Han Solo SWGoHToday’s character to review mods for is one of the most well-known heroes of the Star Wars saga – Han Solo. In SWGoH Han Solo shards are only available in The Pit Raid, aka the Rancor Raid, and he was a hot-commodity earlier in gameplay. But soon players of Galaxy of Heroes realized a startling fact – (Raid) Han wasn’t that great in this game. This led to a rework in August 2017 which has made Han Solo one of the biggest hitters in SWGoH, and he continues to remain important in 2021. The addition of Chewbacca (September 2018) enhanced Han’s effectiveness, and with Gear 13 and Relics now in play this “daring attacker” is quite dangerous. Once we saw the addition of Threepio & Chewie, aka ChewPo, it kept this team, led by Commander Luke Skywalker, incredibly relevant. Let’s take a look at the mod focus needed to keep Han Solo hitting hard in SWGoH.

Main Focus: Speed, but this could be flipped with the info below. I am sticking with Speed because it is so annoyingly necessary. While I do not recommend using a Speed set on Han, he is a character you want going again and again, and his base Speed of 156 is something that you can easily build on to get to the 250+ range. Thus, find some of your best CD mods with high Speed and Offense secondaries for the most effective Han Solo.

Additional Areas to Focus: Critical Damage, Offense and survivability. Looking at his special, Deadeye, it reads “Gain Turn Meter equal to Han’s Critical Chance” which is fantastic for players earlier in the game. Before Gear 13, I recommend that you get as much CC on Han Solo as possible, and factor in his +20% CC from his unique. However, once you start thinking about his Relic, upgrading Han Solo’s Relic to Level 7 brings him to over 90% CC, plus the extra 20% from his unique and another 25% from Chewbacca when he has Guard. So unless Critical Avoidance or CC down is in play, you’re not likely going to need to add Critical Chance to Han Solo if Relics are in play. Also factor in that Never Tell Me the Odds grants CC up and you will usually get to use that special and then Deadeye and you will get an extra turn with the basic, Quick Draw. Of course, what do we always recommend with high CC characters? Critical Damage so that he hits harder. Outside of these more Offense never hurts and any added survivability is important since Han Solo is on the squishy side.

Speed Priority: 6/10 – While high a Speed stat on Han Solo will help you out, his Speed comes into play more when mirror matches are used as a counter in Territory Wars or the GAC. Overall Han is a good character to have strong Speed secondaries on, but his Offense, CC and CD are the key stats to enhance.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Critical Chance & Critical Damage. My only disagreement here is that the addition of Relics to SWGoH has made CC a bit overkill for Han Solo, unless you are facing an enemy with high Crit Avoidance. Since he is a CC/CD driven character I would now focus on CD mods and likely a Health set with awesome secondary stats.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Han Solo:

I recommend the use of two Critical Chance (pre-Gear 13) or two Health (Gear 13 + Relics) and four Critical Damage mods on Han with strong Speed secondaries. Thus, here is my recommended approach for mods on (Raid) Han Solo:

  • Transmitter (Square) – Critical Damage mod with a primary focus on offense and a secondary focus on defense, speed, health and critical chance or offense
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Critical Chance/Health mod with a primary focus on speed primary and a secondary focus on offense and critical chance or health
  • Processor (Diamond) – Critical Damage mod with a primary focus on defense and a secondary focus on speed, health and critical chance or offense
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Critical Damage mod with a primary focus on Critical Damage – any other stats gained are a bonus
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Critical Chance/Health mod with primary focus on protection and a secondary focus on speed, health, defense and critical chance or offense
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Critical Damage mod with primary focus on offense and a secondary focus on speed, health, critical chance or offense
