Welcome to the Best Mods for Poggle The Lesser – the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for each SWGoH character. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every toon I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations and they are certainly not the only option. However we look to help players maximize their characters in SWGoH and we are always open to feedback if you have a mod setup that works well for your gameplay.

Today’s character to review mods for will be Poggle The Lesser, Archduke leader of the Geonosians. One of four Geonosian characters in SWGoH at the time of the original writing, and at the Mods 2.0 release, Poggle The Lesser was the lone Geonosian with a leader ability and because of his background with overseeing the droid factories during the Clone Wars, he also has a nice synergy with Droids. However the game has evolved, and the addition of Geonosian Brood Alpha changed that once-weak faction dramatically. So let’s take a look at which mods are best suited and which stats we want to enhance for Poggle The Lesser in the current SWGoH world we know.

Main Focus: Speed. With a base Speed of 164, Poggle The Lesser starts off faster than most in SWGoH. Since his Droid Assault special grants Speed Up for Droid allies and his basic can apply the Ability Block debuff, having him taking turns more frequently is going to be wise. Given the much higher value all Geonosians have now with Territory Battles: Geonosis now live, having a very fast Poggle will help you in the Special Missions in Phase 2 and Phase 3 which require all 5 Geonosians to even attempt to battle.

Additional Areas to Focus: Potency, Offense and survivability. The chance to add Ability Block on the basic may not seem that valuable, but it can indeed be quite helpful wherever Geonosians are used, and all throughout the Geonosis: Separatist Might Territory Battle. Thus, high Potency is quite valuable, and is even more valuable when using Poggle with Geonosian Spy given GS gains Turn Meter whenever a Geonosian ally inflicts a negative status effect on an enemy. Because he grants all Separatist allies Offense up from his special and his leader ability grants them a 30% gain in offense, added Offense makes sense, but Poggle himself is not a big hitter, even when you upgrade his Relic, so do not rely on him to be a major offensive weapon in any squad. Finally, he is a bit squishy and relies heavily on dodging attacks, so beef up his survivability in the forms of Health, Protection and Defense.

Note that the addition of Geonosian Brood Alpha to the game did alter things a bit. Under GBA’s lead all Geonosians gain 15k Max Health and 15k Max Protection, recover 3% Protection when using a basic ability and deal 10% more damage when attacking debuffed enemies. As a result, this makes Poggle The Lesser’s Potency stat more important since it can help him apply the very important Ability Block debuff.

Speed Priority: 7/10 – It’s hard to rank Poggle any higher than this given the Geonosian faction is not a Top 5 team for endgame players, but if you Geonosians are one of your top teams you can use some of your best Speed mods on him.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Speed & Health. Speed is a good call, but nowhere in Poggle’s current kit does it show any benefit to using Health mods of having high Health secondary stats, and only the synergy with GBA supports this. I suggest Potency as the second set of mods after Speed as the TM gain that Geo Spy gets from Geonosians inflicting debuffs makes Poggle and his basic quite important.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Poggle The Lesser:

Once upon a time, in the early days of mods, I suggested Offense mods for Poggle the Lesser. Shame on me, but in fairness he was my second 7-star character and the game has changed a LOT over time. Speed is where you want to be with Poggle to build on his 164 base Speed. Have him hitting early and often to support his Geonosian teammates. I suggest a set of four Speed mods and a set of two Potency mods as long as you are getting the strong secondary stats desired. Let’s take a look at my recommended approach for Poggle’s mods:

• Transmitter (Square) – Speed mod with a primary focus on offense and a secondary focus on potency, speed, offense and protection
• Receiver (Arrow) – Speed mod with a primary focus on speed – all other stats gained are a bonus but secondary focuses on health, potency and offense are preferred
• Processor (Diamond) – Speed mod with a primary focus on defense and a secondary focus on speed, health, potency and protection
• Holo-Array (Triangle) – Potency mod with a primary focus on health or protection and a secondary focus on speed, health and potency
• Data-Bus (Circle) – Potency mod with a primary focus on protection and a secondary focus on speed, health, potency and defense
• Multiplexer (Plus) – Speed mod with a primary focus on potency and a secondary focus on speed, health, potency and protection
