The month of September is just around the corner and once again the EA GameChangers program for SWGoH has provided the Daily Login Character and Monthly Events Calendar to Gaming-fans.com. While Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes has seen new characters from Knights of the Old Republic and additional Bounty Hunters in the past several weeks, it is time to look ahead to the month of September and start reading into the latest information we have at this time.
To start that look ahead SWGoH GameChanger Gaming-fans.com is be one of two select international media sources to announce that the September daily login character in SWGoH will be Rebel Officer Leia Organa, aka ROLO. While her shards have been available in the Light Side Territory Battles mode entitled Rebel Assault, the Rebel Officer version of Leia has pro-Rebel and anti-Empire abilities and a solid kit, but outside of Territory Battles she has significantly less value, even with the right mods on ROLO. Of course the announcement of ROLO as the September daily login character sets up the opportunity for speculation. Will there be more Rebels incoming? Are new Rebels being added? Will the Territory Battles: Rebel Assault be getting an update? Will a new version of Territory Battles come soon? Only time will tell, but let’s look at the past few login toons:
- June – Lando Calrissian – we got a new, younger version of Lando added to the game
- July – HK-47 – the Old Republic became a focus for the month as we saw Mission Vao, Zaalbar, Bastila Shan and more added
- August – Dengar – Bounty Hunters were added, first Embo and then Aurra Sing along with Bossk’s ship, the Hound’s Tooth and Cad Bane got a rework
My expectation is this – we will see a new version of Territory Battles before the end of 2018, likely a Light Side version first followed by the Dark Side, just as they were rolled out in 2017. That having been said, I doubt we see anything major coming from this specific daily login toon announcement, but I hope I am wrong.
Meanwhile, looking at the September SWGoH Calendar, the Artist of War Thrawn event and the Chimaera are both slated for the month as is the Emperor’s Demise Palpatine event. On top of this, an additional Rebel Assault (LS Territory Battle) is scheduled for a total of 3 in the month of September (to compensate for the one we are currently missing) versus just one Imperial Retaliation event.
