TFEW: Best Power Cores & COMBAT Bots for Sandstorm & Octone

TFEW - Transformers Earth Wars

Welcome to the latest in our series of articles about the Transformers Earth Wars mobile game where we take a look at the best Power Cores for each Transformers Earth Wars bot. While our staff will never claim to have all of the answers for TFEW, we do our homework and test out each bot to ensure we are making only the best recommendations.

Sandstorm and Octone are triple changers with the same HP / DPS stats as their fellow triple changers, Springer and Astrotrain. There is a huge difference in how they are used though. They are intended to rush into the thick of the battle with their abilities, Supply Drop and Tar Sands Rush. Used alone, the healing and damage from these abilities are not terribly impressive, but in combination, they are formidable! So, which cores work the best for these bots?

Best Power Core for Sandstorm & Octone:

Best Core: Alchemist Prime – The Attack Core on these bots is very useful and is what we recommended in late 2018, when Power Cores were still fairly new. Back then Prime Cores were rather new and nobody had them all, and Squad Cores had not yet been introduced. But like all games, Transformers: Earth Wars has evolved.

For Sandstorm and Octone, when the 4-star bot is leveled up and significant spark is invested, these bots can be awesome in getting past those pesky honeycomb defenses. Add the Alchemist Prime Core and suddenly this bot that attacks an area and heals all in that area can also heal himself for around 10% of the damage they do. For some, the addition of the Flak/Cratermaker COMBAT bot enhancement can effective turn these bots into gunners who can do major damage at the highest levels in the game and are great for weekend power leveling. Although they do have relatively high DPS, they have fairly low HP and are on the front lines frequently and behave very similarly to Springer and Astrotrain. As a result, having them rush in is an extremely tenuous proposition without some kind of support or healing ability. As a result, for those who are unable to utilize the Alchemist Prime Core here, a basic Attack Core attached to them can at least enhance their offensive output. If you’re dead set on using a Prime Core to enhance Sandstorm and Octane, however, the Micronus and Solus Prime Cores could be options as well.

Other Core Options: Attack Core, Micronus Prime Core, Solus Prime Core, Rejuvenate

Best COMBAT Bots for Sandstorm & Octone:

Trenchfoot – The use of COMBAT bots is always a tricky subject as in some cases they can fundamentally change the type of bot you have. An early strategy was to use Flak/ to turn a high DPS bot with strong survivability into a Gunner-style bot and thus gain range from their normal attacks and this still works in many scenarios today. For Sandstorm & Octone, they are Triplechanger bots who covers the area with Acid with their special attack, then looks to follow that with the Supply Airdrop special. As a result, a COMBAT bot like Trenchfoot is a good use given Trenchfoot deals more damage to targets under fire, acid, amp or speed reduction.
