MSF: Dark Dimension IV Walkthrough & Live Blog – Mission #1

MSF - Dark Dimension 4

Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom is the ultimate endgame content in Marvel Strike Force in 2021, and I begin fighting it today after finally getting my 5th and 6th characters to Gear 15. While I admit that this team (below) may not be an ideal team makeup for this game mode, I am going to live blog my daily attempts as I look to defeat the Dark Dimension and and unlock Doctor Doom.

My Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom eligible characters:

  • Namor – 160,087 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 7 Red Stars – Iso-8 Raider, Level 4
  • Ebony Maw – 151,053 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Abilities Levels 7-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 6 Red Stars – Iso-8 Skirmisher, Level 5
  • Yellow Jacket – 128,629 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 6 Stars, 6 Red Stars – Iso-8 Striker, Level 3
  • Ghost – 124,822 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 6 Stars, 5 Red Stars – Iso-8 Skirmisher, Level 5
  • Stature – 106,033 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 6-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 4 Red Stars – Iso-8 Healer, Level 4
  • Punisher – 145,582 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 6 Red Stars – Iso-8 Striker, Level 5

Notes: I have Yellow Jacket as an Iso Striker over the Raider class I suggest in the best Iso-8 for Yellow Jacket article. Thanos is Gear 14 +5, so he will likely be the next eligible character on my roster and both Wasp and Ant-Man are major focuses needed 3 pieces of gear each.

Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom – Mission 1

03.31.21 – My team checks in at 672,224 power for this first battle as I leave Punisher on the bench for this one. I face off with 15 enemies, and in the first wave of 6 enemies, the two in the front are able to use their ultimate ability each time they take a turn. As a result I try to focus on these supercharged enemies to maximize my chances of success. Mercenary Lieutenant is one of those enemies and he is the first I can kill off, but fighting through Invisible Woman’s barrier proves to be a pain in the butt. I eventually work through the barrier to get some real damage on Killmonger and finish him off followed by IW. Once these three are down it is just a matter of picking the others off to bring on another wave of enemies, which includes 6 bad guys again, with Falcon, Vulture and Shocker in the front row with always-on ultimate abilities. I am able to focus in on Vulture and kill him off, but the enemies overwhelm Namor with hits before I can do more significant damage. Now with just four in my team, I am forced to place my hits on a taunting Rhino, and when I kill him off reinforcements arrive with Iron Man x2 and Vision. Fighting the final 7 enemies all on-screen, I take out Ironheart and Shocker next and then work my way through the rest of the crowd as the evasion of the Pym Tech characters is key to my success. The final four are Rescue, Vision and both Iron Man enemies, as I pick them off one by one for the win. My reward is 300k gold and 10k Gold Orb Fragments.
