Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom is the ultimate endgame content in Marvel Strike Force in 2021, and I begin fighting it today after completing the 4th mission in just two attacks. While I admit that this team (below) may not be an ideal team makeup for this game mode, I am going to live blog my daily attempts as I look to defeat the Dark Dimension and and unlock Doctor Doom.
My Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom eligible characters:
- Namor – 161,533 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 7 Red Stars – Iso-8 Striker, Level 4
- Yellow Jacket – 131,388 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 6 Stars, 6 Red Stars – Iso-8 Striker, Level 4
- Ghost – 124,822 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 6 Stars, 5 Red Stars – Iso-8 Skirmisher, Level 5
- Stature – 107,366 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 6-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 4 Red Stars – Iso-8 Healer, Level 5
Notes: I have Yellow Jacket as an Iso Striker over the Raider class I suggest in the best Iso-8 for Yellow Jacket article, and while I did the same for Namor as well, he is back to his standard Raider class for this battle. Thanos is Gear 14 +5, so he will likely be the next eligible character on my roster and both Wasp and Ant-Man are major focuses needed 3 pieces of gear each.
Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom – Mission 5
04.04.21 – I begin Mission #5 after just two days of fighting Mission #4 with a team checking in at 527k, a bit lower after taking Namor back to the Raider class. My thinking is that without Ebony Maw available I have fewer Vulnerable Iso-8 status effects to exploit, so allowing Namor to have higher CC/CD and add Vulnerable at times will help.
I am facing a mission with Squirrel Girl as the boss and 37.9m health across 34 enemies. Squirrel Girl, Okoye and M’Baku are the three with the super soldier serum coursing through their veins for this battle, and a Ghost ultimate and YJ special weaken Okoye significantly. Namor’s AoE proves effective landing 3 Vulnerable effects, and I survive a heavy barrage of enemy attacks to allow Ghost to setup the death of Okoye at the hands of a YJ ultimate. I work around a Ms. Marvel taunt and kill off the supercharged Squirrel Girl next as YJ is in red health. All of the enemies other than MM are yellow health, so I go to work on M’Baku and once he is gone I pick the others on-screen off. Once they are all gone 27 enemies remain and a group of 7 new enemies arrive with Proxima Midnight and Loki as this round’s super soldiers. I am able to finish Loki after maneuvering around a Thanos taunt and take him out, then a Ghost ultimate weakens the 6 remaining. A YJ special removes Proxima from the screen and at 25 enemies left Cull Obsidian and Sif join the battle. A stunned, taunting Stature keeps taking hits and Cull is proving hard to deal with. When he and Sis taunt I put all attacks on Cull and then lose Namor as I look to maximize this attack to setup tomorrow. After Stature heals and taunts again and I take a ton of enemy hits, Ghost kills Cull Obsidian, but a Sifters taunt keeps me from getting to a red health Thor and Thanos. Eventually however, Ghost lands an ultimate to kill Thanos and 23 enemies remain. YJ kills a Thor in both of his next two turns and 21 enemies remain with 4 on-screen being Sif, Groot and two Heimdall enemies. This group takes longer to kill than expected with Heimdall and his self-heals and Groot’s annoying abilities, but they do not have much offense so I finish them eventually. Now at 17 enemies left, Thor and Heimdall are the two super soldiers and I go to work on Thor immediately to try and remove his offense. I finish Thor with a blend of specials and ultimates, but BP and Gamora prove to have the offense to make me sweat, but this crazy good Pym Tech synergy helps me navigate through to kill on BP. Now 15 enemies remain and reinforcements arrive placing 8 on-screen as I focus on the other Black Panther. I finish off BP, Gamora and M’Baku as I continue to evade and heal, then a Ghost ultimate kills two as 10 enemies remain. I finish Okoye and Proxima and just Heimdall remains. Like before I use 2-3 minutes of basic attacks on him to set up the next wave with all abilities available, and when he dies just 7 enemies remain. The new group of bad guys consists of super soldiers Black Widow and Groot as well as normal enemies Thor, Gamora, Okoye, America Chavez and Black Panther. I start going to work on Gamora as I want to remove offense from the board, but Ghost gets stunned and I lose Stature and Ghost before they take another turn. YJ places a basic on Gamora and dies, ending this awesome run but setting up tomorrow nicely.
Attack #2 – I use my Dark Energy heals to heal up YJ and Ghost for another round since it is Sunday and I can replenish the Dark Energy only to find out that there is a 4-character requirement. Total and complete crap as I have now wasted the Dark Energy, which caps at 100, meaning I either have to choose to use crystals to fight a second time today or lose the Dark Energy. I choose to drop 100 crystals and here we go…
7 enemies with 5.7m health remain for this second round of attacks today. The final 7 enemies are super soldier serum Black Widow and Groot with Thor, Gamora, America Chavez, Okoye and Black Panther.Gamora is the lone enemy not in green health, so I put my main attacks on her and kill her rather quickly. Ghost takes some hits but lands a special on Black Widow, setting up YJ’s special and the Iso-8 bonus attacks to kill her and 5 enemies remain. Thor is the next lowest health so he gets my focus now, and a Ghost ultimate sets up YJ once again for the kill as we are down to 4. Ghost starts a round of attacks on BP and YJ uses his special to weaken him significantly, as once again YJ is the finisher, this time with his ultimate. Namor is in red health so Stature taunts, and a Ghost ultimate kills Okoye as 2 enemies remain. I use basics to finish AC and Groot to move on to the 6th Mission with and extra 300k gold and 2k Mega Orb Fragments in my inventory.
