SWGoH: Best Mods for Omega

Omega - SWGoH

Welcome to the best mods for Omega, the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the top mods for SWGoH characters. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every character I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations based on the character’s kit and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables.

Omega - SWGoHToday’s character to review mods for will be for Omega, a Marquee character added in July 2021. The 5th member of the Bad Batch, Omega is filling the spot that we all expected would be manned by Crosshair before the Bad Batch series threw us a bit of a curveball. Let’s take a look at which mods will best enhance Omega’s kit for SWGoH success.

Main Focus: Speed. Omega is a character whose offensive firepower ramps up over time, which makes her great in longer battles, but getting her under Stealth early is important. This can be achieved one of two ways – either by having one of her Bad Batch allies place her under Stealth or by using her Empathy First special. Given the importance of Speed in SWGoH, I suggest you go Speed first and Offense/CC/CD second to ensure that you can be more flexible with getting Omega under Stealth as soon as possible. With a decent base Speed of 150, the Speed set will help increase things nicely, plus you have stacking Speed bonuses that can help her take her turns more quickly over time.

Additional Areas to Focus: Offense, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Health and Protection. The Strategy Tips from the Developer’s Insight into Omega stated that “keeping Omega under the effects of Stealth is critical to keeping her safe and maximizing her damage potential.” With that in mind I suggest using mods with high Speed, Offense and Critical Chance secondary stats and a Critical Damage triangle. Omega is a damage dealer who will ramp up her damage as time goes by, so increasing her CC/CD and Offense is wise, especially given she gains +10% CD when under Stealth. Looking at Critical Chance and Omega, this is one of those characters who may be in need of a mod-change as she gets into higher Gear or Relic levels. At Gear 13 Omega has just over 50% Physical CC, which increases to over 75% at Relic 5 and 94.67% at Relic 8, and this is compounded with an extra 10% CC when she has Defense Up. Thus, you may want to change your mod set once she gets into higher Relic levels so as not to waste stat gains. Finally, added Health and Protection is wise as this ties into Hunter’s leadership which grants all Bad Batch allies an extra +35% Max Health and +35% Max Protection, so adding more through mods will enhance these gains even more.

Speed Priority: 7/10 – For now I am going with an 7 for the Speed Priority until more testing to aces place with the Bad Batch five, but getting Omega more turns to hit harder and harder is going to be key to this team.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Critical Chance & Critical Damage. While I do not disagree entirely, I am leaning toward the use of a set of Speed mods in place of Critical Damage with a CD-focused triangle.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Commander Ahsoka Tano:

The “ideal mod setup” can be interpreted a few different ways. If you target Speed, Offense, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Health and Protection through the mods you should be able to maximize Omega’s kit. Remember that Omega will be under a Hunter lead, so added Health and Protection will go a long way. Here are my recommendations for the best mods for Omega:

  • Transmitter (Square) – Speed mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and health/protection
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Health/Critical Chance mod with speed primary and a secondary focus on health, protection, critical chance and offense
  • Processor (Diamond) – Speed mod with defense primary and a secondary focus on speed, critical chance, offense and health/protection
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Health/Critical Chance mod with critical damage primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and critical chance
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Speed mod with health or protection primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and health/protection
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Speed mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, critical chance, health and protection
