The developers at EA Capital Games continue to stay true to their plans to revitalize older and outdated factions as today they announced the addition of Kyle Katarn and updates to both Rebel Officer Leia Organa (ROLO) and Chief Nebit. Katarn, who is a Rebel, Rebel Fighter and a Jedi, appears to fit best with Mon Mothma teams which have been in need of another strong piece to be highly relevant and has added abilities in Territory Battles with his Omicron upgrade.
Meanwhile, staying on the topic of Omicrons, ROLO will also be getting a boost in Territory Battles, as her Omicron will add a ton of Speed as well as survivability and Turn Meter gains. Originally designed to be a strong Territory Battle leader, Rebel Officer Leia Organa should finally live up to that expectation a bit with these added stat gains.
Finally, the most attractive of the Omicron upgrades appears to be the one on Chief Nebit which will dramatically enhance the Jawa faction. Chief Nebit’s new Omicron upgrade will enhance his Raiding Parties leader ability adding the following text:
While in Territory Wars: When a Jawa ally deals damage to an enemy, they dispel all buffs on that enemy. For every buff dispelled, that enemy is inflicted with a Thermal Detonator for 2 turns, which can’t be dispelled, prevented, or resisted.
When an enemy takes damage from a Thermal Detonator, Jawa allies recover 5% Health and Protection, gain 5% Turn Meter, and there is a 50% chance that enemy is inflicted with a Thermal Detonator for 2 turns, which can’t be dispelled, prevented, or resisted.
Used properly, Jawas can be viable in a few situations, and given the expansion of Territory War defensive teams, this could make the Jawas a much more viable team in that game mode.
