As we continue to wait for the launch of Harry Potter Wizards Unite, the game is starting to finally get some real buzz. Since their March 12 email showing off how the game works including duels and more, the game continues to grab media attention from big-name publications. Most recently, the Wall Street Journal, CNet and more have featured articles about the pending release, but we still do not know when that will be.
What we do know about Harry Potter Wizards Unite is that the game will feature vast improvements in Augmented Reality. Given the makers of this game are also the makers of Pokemon Go, there is a lot of data to build on. A larger reliance on the AR is expected, but key items like using more pedestrian safe locations for action will be important to the widespread success of the games. The ability to duel and unlock portals to virtual worlds while leveling your character(s) up will surely grab the attention of players early on, but the key will be in keeping the players engaged. The early info we have adds to the anticipation, but does little to answer the main question – when will we finally get to play Harry Potter Wizards Unite?
