Shapes/Slots
Mods can come in any of six slots or shapes:
Shape | Common Name | Icon |
---|---|---|
Transmitter | Square | |
Processor | Diamond | |
Data-Bus | Circle | |
Receiver | Arrow | |
Holo-Array | Triangle | |
Multiplexer | Cross/Plus |
Mod shapes become important in ascertaining the primary stats available for each mod.
*Unique primaries emphasized
(Max stats listed for 5A (Gold 5*) mods only)
- Square mods only have the Offense % primary, maxing at 5.88% Offense
- Diamond mods only have the Defense % primary, maxing at 11.75% Defense
- Circle mods can have either the Protection % (23.5% Protection) or Health % (5.88% Health) primaries
- Arrow mods can have any of the following seven primaries:
- Offense % (5.88% Offense)
- Defense % (11.75% Defense)
- Health % (5.88% Health)
- Protection % (23.5% Protection)
- Speed (+30 Speed)
- Accuracy (12% Accuracy)
- Critical Avoidance (24% Crit Avoidance)
- Triangle mods can have any of the following six primaries:
- Offense % (5.88% Offense)
- Defense % (11.75% Defense)
- Health % (5.88% Health)
- Protection % (23.5% Protection)
- Critical Chance % (12% Critical Chance)
- Critical Damage % (36% Critical Damage)
- Cross mods can have any of the following six primaries:
- Offense % (5.88% Offense)
- Defense % (11.75% Defense)
- Health % (5.88% Health)
- Protection % (23.5% Protection)
- Potency % (24% Potency)
- Tenacity % (24% Tenacity)
The above information means that a Speed primary stat will only ever appear on the Arrow shape, and likewise, a Critical Damage primary stat will only ever appear on the Triangle shape.
Mods now drop from the challenges with a 100% drop rate, meaning that every time the mod challenge is completed, there is a 100% chance of a mod appearing within the rewards. That said, the mod shapes do not drop at an equal rate. As researched by /u/maro2194 on Reddit, the mod drop rate percentages show that the most common mod shapes to appear are Squares and Diamonds, and those are the two shapes where the primaries are always going to be Offense or Defense, respectively. The rarest mod shapes are Triangles and Arrows, which are also the most important.
