Welcome to the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for each SWGoH character. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every toon I write about extensively.
Today’s toon to review mods for is from Solo: A Star Wars Story and is the hottest (in SWGoH) of the new characters added immediately after the premier of the movie – Enfys Nest. Nest is described in-game as a “Powerhouse attacker that stacks Protection when attacked, then dismantles enemy defenses with Dispels and Turn Meter manipulation.” If I did not know better, I would think this kit belongs on a legendary toon, not a role player from one of the Star Wars Story movies. Unless of course there is more to come about the story of Enfys Nest from Lucasfilm… Let’s take a look at the best mods for Enfys Nest.
Main Focus: Speed is the necessary evil in SWGoH, and Enfys Nest is, at the time of this article, #10 on the list for the fastest toons in the game based on their un-modded speed at 159. Thus, given the fact that a set of four maxed Speed mods adds 10% of the base Speed to the character, the ability to add 16 Speed (15.9) from this mod set is too good to pass up. Thus, Speed is the main focus.
Additional Areas to Focus: But if Speed is the 1A focus, the 1B has to be Protection. While other forms of survivability are important – Health and Defense – Protection is key for Enfys Nest. Her unique, Fighting Instinct, grants Nest 40% Bonus Protection which also stacks by 40%, each time she is damaged by an attack. This becomes so annoying to face that many have resorted to Darth Nihilus and the Annihilate attack to take her out even though there are other options. Potency is also a good area of focus given her basic inflicts Expose, her special Sudden Impact inflicts Stun and Buff Immunity and her other special, Kinetite Charge is an AoE which inflicts the Daze debuff. Critical Damage is also an area to build given the +30% Critical Chance that also comes from the unique. Finally, once applying a Zeta ability to her Fighting Instinct unique, added emphasis on increasing Health is a wise choice.
Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Enfys Nest:
I recommend the use of a set of four Speed mods on Enfys Nest along with a set of 2 Health, Defense or Potency mods based on your available mod inventory. No matter what the second mod set is, the major secondary stat focuses need to be on Protection and Speed.
Two areas that have been brought up in the Website comments and on Twitter include 1) why a Protection primary on the Cross as opposed to a Potency primary, and 2) with Enfys Nest’s Health Steal on the unique, why not a Health primary on the Circle. First, at 41% base Potency, Nest does pretty well to start. So if the Protection primary on the Cross is not enhanced enough by secondary Potency from other mods, or you simply feel a need for more Potency based on your own experience, by all means go Potency as the Primary. Secondly, Enfys Nest gains a stacking 2% Health Steal when an enemy loses a buff or debuff after applying the Zeta ability. However, since most will not have the Zeta on Nest, I see no reason to consider an emphasis on Health over Protection for those without a Zeta on her Fighting Instinct unique.
Thus, here is my recommended approach for mods on Enfys Nest:
- Transmitter (Square) – Speed mod with a primary focus on offense and a secondary focus on speed, protection, potency and defense
- Receiver (Arrow) – Potency mod with +30 speed primary – any other stats gained are a bonus, but a high protection stat is preferred
- Processor (Diamond) – Speed mod with a primary focus on defense and a secondary focus on speed, health, potency and protection
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – Potency mod with +36% Critical Damage – any other stats gained are a bonus, but high protection and speed stats are preferred
- Data-Bus (Circle) – Speed mod with primary focus on protection and a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and protection
- Multiplexer (Plus) – Speed mod with primary focus on protection and a secondary focus on speed, protection, offense and potency
Note: Transmitter, Processor and Data-Bus mods are MUCH more common. If you can maximize the stats from these using a MK V, Tier A mod that is ideal.
