Welcome to the best mods for Resistance Hero Finn, the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for SWGoH characters. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every character I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations based on the character’s kit and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables.
Today’s character to review mods for will be the new version of Finn in SWGoH, Resistance Hero Finn (RHF). The first new Resistance character added around The Rise of Skywalker, RHF has a kit that fits in with the current Resistance characters, but is likely intended to mesh well with characters we do not yet have in-game. Expect to see some strong RHFs in the game immediately as he has already been announced as one of the needed characters for the first Galactic Legend event in SWGoH. Let’s take a look at the best mods for Resistance Hero Finn.
Main Focus: Speed. While the developers continue to try to shy away from the need for huge Speed on characters in SWGoH, it is still the necessary evil of Galaxy of Heroes and does not appear to be going away anytime soon. This kit has a ton of potential to boost Resistance allies, so getting Resistance Hero Finn to take turns as often as possible is wise, thus add as much Speed as possible. Originally I thought that Speed should come from the secondary stats only, but with a 183 base Speed when maxed, I am now leaning toward a Speed set as well.
Additional Areas to Focus: Offense, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Tenacity and survivability in all forms – Health, Protection and Defense. Offense will build up RHF’s damage on all attacks, and given characters dealing Special Damage typically start with much lower Special Critical Chance than those dealing Physical Damage, Offense will help offset this a bit. However, at least in the early going, you’re likely to use Resistance Hero Finn under a Rey (Jedi Training) lead where frequent critical hits are necessary. As a result, getting high CC from mod secondary stats should be a focus. Critical Damage will help the crits hit harder, but I feel a CD triangle is all that is needed for RHF. Add to this that his Strength of Will special adds 5% CD for each Inspired ally and this can add to the damage. Given how well this Inspired buff fits in with Resistance Hero Poe, it seems that RHF will be key to Resistance teams moving forward.
Now we get to the survivability stats, Tenacity included. Resistance Hero Finn heals the weakest Resistance ally by 10% Health and 10% Protection with his basic, and his Rallying Call special causes Healers and Support characters to restore 15% Health and Protection to all allies. Since he could factor into either of these, adding more Health and Protection seems wise. Defense and Tenacity are also important since his Spark of Resistance unique will boost both by 50%.
In-game Mod Recommendations: Speed and Critical Chance. Gameplay will be key here and I will update this accordingly as the devs know far more about a new character when they are released than I do at this point. That having been said, I have a Speed set on my RHF and if I had the right CC mods I would be using them over the Health mods I have currently.
Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Resistance Hero Finn:
The “ideal mod setup” can be interpreted a few different ways. If you target Speed, Offense, CC/CD and survivability through the mods you should be able to maximize RHF’s kit. Some players may want to go heavy on the offensive stats or heavy on the defensive stats instead of my well-rounded approach. Either way you want high Speed on RHF and I am suggesting a Speed set and a set that features strong Speed secondaries, either CC, Health, Defense or Tenacity based on your own mod inventory, as the secondary stats are the keys. Here are my recommendations for the best mods for Resistance Hero Finn:
- Transmitter (Square) – Speed mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and health/protection
- Receiver (Arrow) – Health/Tenacity/Defense/CC mod with speed primary and a secondary focus on defense, offense, tenacity and health/protection
- Processor (Diamond) – Speed mod with defense primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, defense and health/protection
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – Speed mod with critical damage or offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and tenacity
- Data-Bus (Circle) – Speed mod with protection primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and tenacity
- Multiplexer (Plus) – Health/Tenacity/Defense/CC mod with offense/health/protection primary and a secondary focus on speed, defense and tenacity
