Welcome to the best mods for Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the top mods for SWGoH characters. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every character I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations based on the character’s kit and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables.
Today’s character to review mods for will be for Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, the Light Side character in the second batch of Galactic Legends in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. Released at the same time as Sith Eternal Emperor, JMLS was created in SWGoH as a much stronger character than Rian Johnson could even dream of, our Galactic Legend version has a fantastic kit that can strengthen any all-Jedi team dramatically. Let’s take a look at which mods will best enhance his kit for SWGoH success.
Main Focus: Speed. Speed is a must on 95% of the Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes collection, and given Jedi Master Luke’s kit is so full of battle-changing fun, a faster JMLS means he will take more turns and, in theory, do more for your team. In addition, you want JMLS taking the first turn in any battle against other Galactic Legend characters, so a Speed set is a must to make this happen. There is also the fact that all Jedi allies gain +40 Speed from his leadership. But most notable of all, in my opinion, is the fact that all Galactic Legend characters in SWGoH have base Speeds ranging from 365-398 (JMLS is 376), while the fastest non-GL character in the game is at 198. Thus, when a set of Speed mods adds 15% Speed, when used on a Galactic Legend character you get far more value than on a non-GL.
Additional Areas to Focus: Potency, Health, Protection, Defense and Offense. Potency will help his basic, Indomitable Stand, land Buff Immunity, as well as helping land Tenacity Down and Daze from his special, They Grow Beyond, and Ability Block and Breach from his Efflux special. Note that at Gear 13 and beyond, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker has a base Potency of just 62%, and he is used to counter many other GLs, so modding will have to improve this stat to make his debuffs stick. Health is important to boost his stacking Max Health increases from the basic and the +10% Max Health from his leadership. Protection helps add to the +10% Max Health from his leadership, plus when he is the leader and all allies are Jedi, he taunts. Also, as noted above, Jedi Master Luke has +10% Max Health & Max Protection per Mastery Level, so adding to both stats will increase this equation once you get past Gear 13 and into Relics in SWGoH. Offense helps add to the +30% Offense that Jedi receive from his leadership and any added Critical Damage will help him hit harder with his basic which will crit if able. However, given Jedi Master Luke relies on Special Critical Chance, which comes in at just 20.62% at Gear 13 and does not increase with his Relic upgrades, adding to his Critical Chance should be strongly considered as well.
In-game Mod Recommendations: Health. Yes, this makes sense given all of the Max Health mentions in his kit, but it’s hard to resist a Speed set (+55 Speed) on a character that has 376 base Speed. I have been running my JMLS at 520+ Speed since unlocking him and sit at 536 Speed today which allows for his tunes to come faster and helps him counter other Galactic Legends nicely.
Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Jedi Master Luke Skywalker:
The “ideal mod setup” can be interpreted a few different ways. If you target Speed, Offense, Potency, Defense, Health, Protection and Critical Chance through the mods you should be able to maximize Jedi Master Luke’s kit. Here are my recommendations for the best mods for Jedi Master Luke Skywalker:
- Transmitter (Square) – Speed mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, health, protection and offense or critical chance
- Receiver (Arrow) – Speed mod with speed primary and a secondary focus on health, protection, potency and offense or critical chance
- Processor (Diamond) – Health mod with defense primary and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and offense or critical chance
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – Health mod with health primary and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and defense or protection
- Data-Bus (Circle) – Speed mod with health primary and a secondary focus on speed, potency, defense and offense or critical chance
- Multiplexer (Plus) – Speed mod with health primary and a secondary focus on speed, health, defense/protection and offense or critical chance
This is 1000000000000000000000000% WRONG. I just wasted so many mod materials following this and then my R7 was completely decimated in 30 seconds. DO NOT DO HEALTH PRIMARIES; HIS ENTIRE KIT REVOLVES AROUND INCREASING MAX PROTECTION. Fuck the complete moron who wrote this article.
If you have specifics that you would like to see added into the article I would welcome them. Note that the devs themselves recommend Health mods on JMLS and they created the character’s kit and know more about him than any of us…
As for that last line, I am fine with criticism and discussion, but you crossed a line with that kind of statement.
from the perspective of someone who uses JML every day, definitely protection mods are best on JMLS. Speed is great and always handy to go first, but JMLs kit revolves completely around protection by the fact that his granted ability deals damage based on his max protection. At R9 you should be able to have that ability dealing 100k true damage if modded well for protection. Speed and Potency are other worthy mentions but protection all the way!
