MSF: Dark Dimension IV Walkthrough & Live Blog – Mission #2

MSF - Dark Dimension 4

Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom is the ultimate endgame content in Marvel Strike Force in 2021, and I begin fighting it today after finally getting my 5th and 6th characters to Gear 15. While I admit that this team (below) may not be an ideal team makeup for this game mode, I am going to live blog my daily attempts as I look to defeat the Dark Dimension and and unlock Doctor Doom.

My Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom eligible characters:

  • Namor – 160,087 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 7 Red Stars – Iso-8 Raider, Level 4
  • Ebony Maw – 151,053 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Abilities Levels 7-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 6 Red Stars – Iso-8 Skirmisher, Level 5
  • Yellow Jacket – 128,629 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 6 Stars, 6 Red Stars – Iso-8 Striker, Level 3
  • Ghost – 124,822 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 6 Stars, 5 Red Stars – Iso-8 Skirmisher, Level 5
  • Stature – 106,033 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 6-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 4 Red Stars – Iso-8 Healer, Level 4
  • Punisher – 145,582 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 6 Red Stars – Iso-8 Striker, Level 5

Notes: I have Yellow Jacket as an Iso Striker over the Raider class I suggest in the best Iso-8 for Yellow Jacket article. Thanos is Gear 14 +5, so he will likely be the next eligible character on my roster and both Wasp and Ant-Man are major focuses needed 3 pieces of gear each.

Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom – Mission 2

03.31.21 – I begin Mission #2 on the same day as I started the 4th iteration of the Dark Dimension as I face a mission that features Elsa Bloodstone as the boss of 34 enemies with a total of 38.8m health. My team checks in at 657,719 power for this second battle as I heal Ebony Maw and replace Namor with Punisher after losing Namor in the first mission. Drax annoys right out of the gate for the enemy crew of 7 who start off on-screen, and because I have no choice, I focus on him first. I am able to get some big hits in early but lose Punisher around the same time as I kill off Drax. From here I focus on taking out the reviver, Doctor Strange, then the offense of Elsa and Rocket. After finishing off these 7 enemies, another 7 enemies appear and prove to be too much as I fall apart quickly and finish my first day of battles with 29.1m health remaining on 27 enemies heading into the month of April.

04.01.21 – Day 2 of Mission #2 begins with my team at 670k power as I adjusted Yellow Jacket’s Iso-8 class after seeing how the first day went. Facing 8 enemies on-screen, one bing a summoned Undead Asgardian, I start working on Blob, the weakest enemy on-screen, while mixing a few attacks on Hela in to keep her from getting back to full health as I want to work on her next. YJ finishes Blob off but the enemies take 10+ turns in a row after that attack. I place a few more hits on Hela and those around her, and YJ kills Pyro as well to bring the enemy count to 26 (counting the Undead Asgardian). Mysterio’s Heal Block finally catches up to me as I lose Stature and Namor, then Ebony Maw too, but Ghost uses and ultimate to set up YJ to kill Hela. I finish off the Undead Asgardian, but Ghost gets stunned and the enemies overwhelm my duo. I end the night with 24 enemies remaining and 24.9m health to go.

04.02.21 – Day 3 of Mission #2 begins with my team at 674k power as I have upgraded Stature to a Level 5 Healer and Yellow Jacket to a Level 4 Striker for this game mode. This battle starts off with 7 enemies on-screen, 3 of them named Graviton, so I kill the weakest one first then go to work on Mysterio to eliminate his Heal Block headaches. After finishing Mysterio and his summoned clones, another Graviton is the only in yellow, so I quickly make that red and finish him off to get the enemy count down to 21. Now two Toad enemies, a Graviton and a Pyro remain on-screen, so I work to weaken them all to prepare for reinforcements. After killing a Toad, I just decide to take them all out one at a time and more enemies do not appear until I finish them all off, at 17 enemies left. Graviton, Pyro and Toad are the supercharged enemies in this wave which again features 7 on-screen, and Drax is taunting, so I work him down immediately. The enemies do a good job of debuffing my characters, but a well-timed heal from Ebony Maw comes just before YJ killing Pyro to get to 16 left. I take out Doctor Strange next to avoid the possibility of a revive, and this prompts reinforcements which places 8 enemies on-screen. A Ghost ultimate kills Drax to get to 14 left, and I am able to take out the two supercharged bad guys, Graviton and Toad, to bring the count to 12. YJ finishes Ghost Rider as I am flirting with disaster with Stature in the yellow and Ebony Maw in the red, but a Ghost ultimate weakens them all and kills Elsa Bloodstone as 10 enemies remain. YJ kills Rocket leaving just Star-Lord and Elsa Bloodstone, and I finish both off to get to 8 enemies remaining. The final wave of enemies arrives on the scene and Star-Lord and Graviton are the supercharged bad guys here, along with Hela, Blob, Mysterio and two Pyro enemies. I go right after Mysterio here to try and avoid Heal Block debuffs, and finish him just before Blob taunts. After Mysterio is down I just work on each enemy one-by-one with the benefit of AoE and adjacent enemy attacks to weaken them, and I find the end of this mission to be much easier than expected as I get the win with all five still alive. 300k gold and 10k Gold Orb Fragments are my reward.
