Welcome to the best Security Primer datacrons, the latest in our new series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best datacrons in SWGoH. As I have stated elsewhere on this site, while I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and, like in our Best Mods for SWGoH characters series, I try to do my research and understand the details and practical use of each of these datacrons. These are recommendations based on the possible datacrons stats and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables.

Today’s datacron to review is the Security Primer datacron. Active until December 26, 2022, these purple datacrons are possibly the most frustrating of any seen in the early days of datacrons in SWGoH. With the potential to add Dodge boosts of over 90%, this set of Datacrons has sparked more emotion that most anything I have seen in my 8 years of playing this game, and almost none of that extreme emotion is good for the long-term health of SWGoH.

 

Security Primer Datacron Alignment, Faction & Character Targets

Taking a look at the target stats and who is most impacted by these stats with the Security Primer datacron set so that we can best determine how to rate these, we find the following:

Alignment Mechanic Targets

  • Dark Side
    • Whenever Dark Side allies are damaged by percent Health damage effects, they recover 2% Health.
    • Whenever Dark Side allies are evaded by an enemy, that ally gains Accuracy Up for 2 turns, and they inflict Evasion Down for 2 turns on that enemy, which can’t be evaded.
    • Whenever Dark Side allies critically hit enemies more than 4 times during their turn, they gain 5% Critical Damage (stacking) until the end of battle.
    • Whenever Dark Side allies inflict a debuff, they gain 2% Critical Chance (stacking) for 3 turns.
    • Whenever Dark Side allies evade an attack, they gain Offense Up for 1 turn.
  • Light Side
    • Whenever Light Side allies are damaged by percent Health damage effects, they recover 2% Health.
    • Whenever Light Side allies are evaded by an enemy, that ally gains Accuracy Up for 2 turns, and they inflict Evasion Down for 2 turns on that enemy, which can’t be evaded.
    • Whenever Light Side allies critically hit enemies more than 4 times during their turn, they gain 5% Critical Damage (stacking) until the end of battle.
    • Whenever Light Side allies inflict a debuff, they gain 2% Critical Chance (stacking) for 3 turns.
    • Whenever Light Side allies evade an attack, they gain Offense Up for 1 turn.

Faction Mechanic Targets

  • Empire
    • Whenever Empire allies inflict a debuff, they reduce their cooldowns by 1 (limit once per turn per enemy and ally).
    • At the start of battle, Empire allies lose all Max Protection and gain that much Max Health. Empire allies gain Grit until the end of battle, which can’t be copied, dispelled, or prevented.
      Grit: Takes reduced damage from percent Health damage effects
    • Whenever Empire allies critically hit an enemy during their turn, that ally gains 10% Offense (stacking) for 2 turns.
    • The first time each Empire ally falls below 50% Health, all Empire allies reduce their cooldowns by 1 and gain 10% Turn Meter.
    • Whenever Empire allies target another ally with an ability during their turn, they both gain 5% Defense, Max Health, Max Protection, and Offense until the end of battle.
    • Whenever a debuff on an enemy expires, Empire allies gain 2% Turn Meter, doubled if that debuff was dispelled.
  • Smuggler
    • Whenever a Smuggler ally gains Prepared, reduce their cooldowns by 2.
    • At the start of battle, Smuggler allies lose all Max Protection and gain that much Max Health. Smuggler allies gain Grit until the end of battle, which can’t be copied, dispelled, or prevented.
      Grit: Takes reduced damage from percent Health damage effects
    • Whenever Smuggler allies critically hit an enemy during their turn, that ally gains 10% Offense (stacking) for 2 turns.
    • The first time each Smuggler ally falls below 50% Health, all Smuggler allies reduce their cooldowns by 1 and gain 10% Turn Meter.
    • Whenever Smuggler allies target another ally with an ability during their turn, they both gain 5% Defense, Max Health, Max Protection, and Offense until the end of battle.
    • Whenever Smuggler allies are revived, they gain Protection Over Time (25%) for 2 turns and 25% Turn Meter and reduce their cooldowns by 1.

Character Mechanic Targets

  • Darth Vader
    • Percent Health damage enemies receive is increased by 300%.
    • The first time Darth Vader is defeated, they are revived with 100% Health, gain Protection Over Time (75%) for 2 turns, and take a bonus turn.
  • Dash Rendar
    • Whenever Dash Rendar critically hits an enemy or inflicts a debuff on an enemy, he gains 8% Max Health, Potency, and Offense (stacking) until the end of battle.
    • Whenever an enemy takes a turn, Dash Rendar takes a bonus turn. During this bonus turn, Dash Rendar deals 100% more damage. This bonus turn can’t trigger this effect on enemies.
    • Whenever Dash Rendar evades an attack, they gain Critical Chance Up and Critical Damage Up for 2 turns and 50% Turn Meter.
  • Lord Vader
    • Whenever an enemy is inflicted with Damage Over Time, Lord Vader gains 4% Mastery (stacking) until the end of battle.
    • Lord Vader has +5% Max Health and Max Protection per Relic Amplifier level, and damage they receive is decreased by 15%.
    • The first time each turn Lord Vader gains Ultimate Charge, they gain an additional 6% Ultimate Charge.
  • Skiff Guard (Lando Calrissian)
    • Whenever Skiff Guard (Lando Calrissian) gains a stack of Deep Cover, he recovers 10% Health and Protection and all allies gain 5% Turn Meter.
    • Whenever Skiff Guard (Lando Calrissian) critically hits an enemy, Skiff Guard (Lando Calrissian) gains 10% Critical Damage, Defense Penetration, and Offense (stacking, max 200%) until the end of battle.
  • TIE Fighter Pilot
    • Whenever an enemy takes a turn, TIE Fighter Pilot takes a bonus turn. During this bonus turn, TIE Fighter Pilot deals 100% more damage. This bonus turn can’t trigger this effect on enemies.
    • Whenever TIE Fighter Pilot evades an attack, they gain Critical Chance Up and Critical Damage Up for 2 turns and 50% Turn Meter.
  • Veteran Smuggler Han Solo
    • The first time Veteran Smuggler Han Solo is defeated, they are revived with 100% Health, gain Protection Over Time (75%) for 2 turns, and take a bonus turn.
    • Whenever Veteran Smuggler Han Solo critically hits an enemy, Veteran Smuggler Han Solo gains 10% Critical Damage, Defense Penetration, and Offense (stacking, max 200%) until the end of battle.

 

Best Security Primer Datacrons

  • Lord Vader – Having a Lord Vader-focused datacron with high Dodge stats and the critically important Level 3 stat, “Whenever Empire allies inflict a debuff, they reduce their cooldowns by 1 (limit once per turn per enemy and ally),” will set you up fro success.
  • Dash Rendar – Dash Rendar benefits from many of the possible stats gains as the Dodge and Deflection numbers can get pretty crazy. The Level 9 “Whenever an enemy takes a turn, Dash Rendar takes a bonus turn. During this bonus turn, Dash Rendar deals 100% more damage. This bonus turn can’t trigger this effect on enemies” is a killer and is one to celebrate if you can find it.
