SWGoH: Best Mods for Admiral Piett

Admiral Piett - SWGoH

Welcome to the best mods for Admiral Piett, the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the top mods for SWGoH characters. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every character I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations based on the character’s kit and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables.

Admiral Piett - SWGoHToday’s character to review mods for will be the Empire’s newest addition in SWGoH, Admiral Piett. Already announced in the first round of required characters to unlock the new Sith Eternal Emperor Galactic Legend character, Admiral Piett will be one of the Pay To Play characters needed to have a shot at opening the Dark Side’s newest Galactic Legend. A member of the Empire and Imperial Trooper factions, Piett is a support character who has stacking Offense that can be deadly if not dealt with. Let’s take a look at which mods best fit his kit to enhance his abilities in Galaxy of Heroes.

Main Focus: Speed. While the developers have attempted to shy away from the need for huge Speed on characters in SWGoH at times, it remains the necessary evil of Galaxy of Heroes at the time of this writing, especially for nearly every major support and attacker in the game. For Admiral Piett, his kit has so much potential to be a difference-maker that you need a lot of Speed on him to maximize his effectiveness, however he does gain Turn Meter from The Emperor’s Trap unique which will assist your Speed nicely. Note that Admiral Piett has a base Speed of 179 – tied for 13th highest among all non-Galactic Legend characters in SWGoH – so a Speed set should be in play as an option. However, I am not suggesting a set of 4 Speed mods, and instead this needs to be the focus stat from your mods’ secondary enhancements.

Additional Areas to Focus: Offense, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Potency and survivability in the forms of Health and Protection. Of the three offensive stats impacted by mods, Offense is by far the most important. Admiral Piett has the ability to stack Offense from his unique and grants Empire allies +30% Offense as a leader, so build on this through mods. CC and CD are listed here because they complement Offense nicely, so at the very least consider a CD-focused triangle (with high speed). Note his Physical CC is 45.67% at Gear 13 and increases to 62.25% from Admiral Piett’s Relic upgrade, so determine from this how much CC is needed if you choose that route. Potency is a must as the impact that Piett’s AoE Suborbital Strike special can have is huge. An AoE that applies Daze, and potentially Fear, can change a battle and will make Piett the key to some strong counters in Territory Wars. A maxed, Relic 7 Piett only has 43% base Potency, so the plus mod is a must. Note that The Emperor’s Trap increases Offense and Potency by 6% per stack, and if Darth Vader is an ally they both have an extra 20% Accuracy, Potency and Tenacity.

When we look at survivability stats – Health, Protection, Defense and to a degree Tenacity, the areas of focus of Admiral Piett are Health, Protection and Tenacity. Admiral Piett’s Imperial Ambition special brings in the use of Inevitable Failure which stacks Max Health and Protection through the first 10 stacks and can include additional Offense and Speed if it reaches 15 and 20 stacks respectively. Finally, added Tenacity is never a bad idea when you have a character with a kit this good – you want them using the special abilities as much as possible.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Speed & Health. I typically find that the newer characters in the game have better mod recommendations than the pre-Mods 2.0 characters, simply because the new characters are released one at a time and get more attention. That having been said, with Piett gaining TM whenever another Empire ally takes damage, and his 60% counter chance, I feel an Offense set is a fantastic option in place of a Speed set.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Admiral Piett:

The “ideal mod setup” can be interpreted a few different ways as our analysis of each character is based on their kit and can be a bit subjective as well. If you target Speed, Offense, Potency, Health and Protection through the mods you should be able to maximize Piett’s kit nicely, but added CC/CD and Tenacity can help as well. Note that the circle and triangle mod will allow for some flexibility based on your mod inventory. Here are my recommendations for the best mods for Admiral Piett:

  • Transmitter (Square) – Offense mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, potency, offense and health/protection
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Potency/Health mod with speed primary and a secondary focus on potency, offense, tenacity and health/protection
  • Processor (Diamond) – Offense mod with defense primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, health/protection and potency
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Offense mod with offense or critical damage primary and a secondary focus on speed, health/protection, tenacity and potency
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Potency/Health mod with health or protection primary and a secondary focus on speed, potency, tenacity and offense
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Offense mod with potency primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and protection
