With Darth Nihilus joining the Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes universe today, the big question for the guppies, dolphins and whales alike is “how quickly can I get these new toons to 7 stars?” So to help with this, we are taking a look at the Lord of Hunger packs which came out this morning offering a chance to get Nihilus, Sith Assassin and Sith Trooper shards. Unlike the (ripoff) Citadel Pack, the Lord of Hunger packs are individually sold for 1,299 crystals apiece.
So what do I get for my 1,299 crystals?
Each pack guarantees at least 5 shards for Darth Nihilus, with a chance to get 30 shards! Minimum 5 shards per pack.
This of course applies to the individual toon – Nihilus, Sith Assassin and Sith Trooper – in terms of the shards in the pack. In addition, as a “bonus” you get 125k credits, 1 MK III ability material, 3 MK II ability materials and a chance to get 1 Omega ability material.
Ok now, here is what I have experienced:
So far, after two packs of the Sith Trooper I received a total of 10 shards (5 both times) along with the materials promised and one “bonus” Omega material. After two packs of the Sith Assassin I also received a total of 10 shards (5 both times) along with the materials promised and one “bonus” Omega material. Finally, in 10 packs opened of Darth Nihilus I have received 5 shards each time for a total of 50 shards. In those 10 packs I received one single Omega material along with the promised credits and less important items.
So there you have it. If 30 shards of Darth Nihilus is your goal you better get your wallet out and be ready to spend. Not at all unlike the (ripoff) Citadel Pack, the Lord of Hunger packs seem to be a terrible way, along with the only way, to level up Darth Nihilus and his friends’ stars.
