SWGoH: Geonosis Separatist Might – Phase 3 Geonosian Special Mission Walkthrough

SWGoH - TB Geonosis Phase 3

The Geonosis: Separatist Might Territory Battle in SWGoH features four Phases which last 36 hours each. Phase 3 features 3 territories as players battle with ships and ground troops. In the Middle Territory in Phase 3 there is a Special Mission where players can earn Wat Tambor shards using their Geonosian characters as well as a Combat Mission requiring Separatist Droids. To fight in the Phase 3 Special Mission you must have 7-star Separatist Droids and there is no power requirement.

The following is a Walkthrough of my experiences in the Phase 3 Special  Mission that may be updated over time.

Phase 3 Special Mission Requirements:

  • 7-star Geonosians
  • 16,500 minimum power required
  • Geonosian Brood Alpha required

My Roster of Geonosians:

Here is a look at my roster of Geonosians used for this Special Mission using Geonosian Brood Alpha as the leader.

  • Geonosian Brood Alpha – 24,963 power – Gear 13 – 7-stars – 2 6-dot mods, 4 gold, 5-dot mods (3 health sets) – all abilities maxed, 261 speed
  • Poggle The Lesser – 18,282 power – 7-stars – Gear 12 +3 – 6 gold, 5-dot mods (Speed & Potency sets) – all abilities maxed, 249 speed
  • Sun Fac – 18,537 power – 7-stars – Gear 12 +4 – 1 6-dot mod, 5 gold, 5-dot mods (2 Health sets & 1 Defense set) – all abilities maxed, 183 speed
  • Geonosian Soldier – 17,752 power – 7-stars – Gear 12 +4 – 1 6-dot mod, 5 gold, 5-dot mods (Speed & CC sets) – all abilities maxed, 253 speed
  • Geonosian Spy – 18,072 power – 7-stars – Gear 12 +2 – 6 gold, 5-dot mods (CC & CD sets) – all abilities maxed, 207 speed

Phase 3 Special Mission Battle Notes:

08.15.19 – Tp start the first battle, I made the mistake of starting the fight just after putting my kids to bed and of course I got distracted by the little ones. The battle was not terribly difficult with a CTM and Clone Sergeant and 5-6 total enemies to defeat. I will look to update this battle’s notes the next time the Geonosis: Separatist Might event comes around.

The second battle had 5 enemies and I immediately go after the Clone Sergeant to remove some of their offense. After defeating him Barriss Offee and the Clone Sharpshooter are my main targets, and since Barriss is already without Protection I focus on her. Once I remove them both by using the Hailfire Tank at full strength and following with a barrage of attacks, I take out the Clone Lieutenant and complete the battle in defeating the Jedi Sentinel.

The third battle had 5 enemies, all Clones, and 3 with the Entrenched buff including the Elite Clone ARC Trooper. Again I take out the CTM first then follow with the Clone Trooper who is the lone non-Entrenched enemy left, then use Geonosian Spy’s special to take out the heavily buffed Clone Sharpshooter quickly. At this point with two ARC Troopers I leave the Elite for last as this battle is not much of a challenge.

The fourth and final battle sees me face off with 4 Clones and 2 Jedi. After the initial attack on the Clone Trooper to land an Ability Block and prevent his taunt, I start to chip away at the CTM and take a big hit from “Ponds.” My Geonosian Brute takes several hits to remove his Protection, but I use Goenosian Brood Alpha’s dispel to remove the enemy’s buffs. After removing the CTM from the screen, my Geonosian Soldier uses the Hailfire Tank again to debuff the enemy and I begin to chip away at the Clone Sergeant. After he is down Ponds is my next target as I lose the Geo Brute and have several debuffs slowing my team down. I use Alpha to remove the debuffs and bring a new Brute to the battle and the momentum swing is a big one. My Spy one-shots the Clone Trooper who I was leaving alone, and a few attacks later Ponds is down as well leaving the two Elite Jedi, Mace Windu and Ki-Adi-Mundi. I focus first on Ki-Adi-Mundi, and after several hits take him out and then follow up with Mace Windu for the win. My reward is a Wat Tambor shard for my entire guild.

Phase 3 Special Mission Battle Notes (Take 2):

With the notes above I have decided to expand upon this content as my roster grows stronger. Here are the changes to my roster since the last time:

  • Geo Brood Alpha – no changes
  • Geo Soldier -no changes
  • Geo Spy – now Gear 13, 18,912 power, 227 speed
  • Poggle – one mod change, now 251 speed
  • Sun Fac – no changes

08.30.19 – With a team now having more offensive punch I feel confident that I should beat this Special Mission without too much trouble. Now that we’ve been through this new Territory Battle a few times the pressure is on in my guild to improve upon our Wat Tambor shard numbers even more, but I have done my part the past two times and plan to do so again.

Hailfire Tank (Full Strength) and wow, what a start! Geo Soldier calls Geo Spy and 2 hits in the CTM is dead. After that they fall fats and I am on to the second battle. The second battle plays much like the first only Shaak Ti’s leadership gives the Clones retribution when I hit them, but it matters not. Geo Spy is a beast, and absolute beast as I walk over this one to get to the third battle. This battle is really no different other than my Geo Brute takes a lot more damage and dies, but GBA summons a new one and I swam the enemies. Once it is down to Mac Windu against my 6 I just use basic attacks to clear the cooldowns a bit and move on.

The fourth and final battle has 2 Elite and 3 Entrenched characters to face, but I go after the Jedi Vanguard first. After the JV is down I use Geo Spy to weaken the Elite, Entrenched ARC Trooper which proves to be a wise move as the enemies get a few hits in and I have to clear several debuffs. At the end it is just Aayla and Luminara versus my 6 Geonosians and they are no match for the swarm. One shard closer to Wat Tambor…

Phase 3 Special Mission Battle Notes (Take 2):

09.13.19 – The first battle is a breeze as my Brute takes a couple of hits but heals back to full protection. The second battle sees me take a few more hits, but once I am able to remove a couple of the Clones from the battle my momentum cannot be stopped. The third battle features the Hailfire Tank and Geo Spy wreaking havoc on the Clones as it ends up being an easier win than the second battle was. The fourth battle was a total wakeup call. The Clone Sergeant hits me with an AoE and nearly kills off Poggle, then the ARC Trooper rolls his bombs in and blow up half my team. Only GBA, the Geo Soldier and Brute survive, which is crap on offense but does enough. I whittle away at the remaining characters, taking Luminara out to remove the healing then the ARC Trooper to remove his attacks, and barely get the win.

Phase 3 Special Mission – Additional Battle Notes:

Now with Relics in the game, these battles are even easier than before. Because my original goal was to help players see where they need to be to beat each of these Combat & Special Missions, I will not be continuing with the detailed walkthrough style and instead, when relevant, I will add additional notes on this Combat Mission below. Note that Gaming-fans.com has started a complete series of SWGoH Relic Reviews for key characters in the game, so if you are looking for advice on which characters to upgrade first or just how good the Relic stat increases are, check these articles out!

  • I did not make any gear changes to my Geonosians since the last battle, but Geo Brood Alpha is now Relic Level 2 and Geo Spy Relic Level 5.
  • Unlike my last battle on this SM, I had no problems this time around, scoring an easy win.
