Since the site launched, Gaming-fans.com has looked to educate gamers about games that our writers love to play. Over the past few years we have been able to expand from just a single game to several different mobile games including Avatar: Pandora Rising, after getting to preview APR at FoxNext Games in Los Angeles in September 2019. Below we take a look at our Best Avatar PR Commanders series where we break down the different commanders and resources in hopes that the data and our advice will help your gameplay in Avatar: Pandora Rising.
Sturmbeest is a resource in Avatar: Pandora Rising that is important to the Na’vi. The hunting of Sturmbeest, whether from a Rally or an individual commander on their own, provides the Sturmbeest Hide needed to keep your Tannery busy which is important throughout the game. As your game progresses you will be able to craft Sturmbeest Leather, Sturmbeest Suede and Bone Horn Tent Stakes in the Tannery from the Sturmbeest Hide you gather on the map.
Sturmbeest hide can be acquired by any commander in Avatar: Pandora Rising who has the Hunter tag, however two commanders specialize in Sturmbeest – Entok and Atan. So who is the best Na’vi Commander to hunt Sturmbeest? Let’s look at their stats and compare.
Tur’itan – Tur’itan started the BETA testing as an early open, jack-of-all-trades hunter who was rather low in value after the first few months of play. However, as the game progressed, the need for a quick hunter becomes greater. His biggest weakness is a lack of solid defense – you have to level him up significantly and his key troop – Viperwolves – is seen as lower value to upgrade as well.
Atan – A new addition to the game during the summer of 2020, Atan is the Sturmbeest Safeguard commander who has value at Sturmbeest Wetlands and really nowhere else. A Rare commander, Atan boosts harder to find Troops including the Elder Titan and Sky Archer, but while his defenses are stronger when hunting Sturmbeest, his speed is not enhanced.
Entok – Entok is the early open commander in APR who is labeled as Uncommon. His Gather Speed any Sturmbeest Wetlands ranges from +3% to +22% with a Sturmbeest Hunt Skill at +15 to +90. On defense Entok is overall unimpressive until leveled up and adds levels to to All Troops (+2 to +26) and boosts the Guardian (+2 to +34) on defense.
So we ask again, who is the best Na’vi Commander to hunt Sturmbeest?
While the game has finally added an additional Sturmbeest Hunter to the game this really comes down to what you need from this hunter – solid defense (Atan) or better speed (Entok). Other hunter rivalries feature Rare commanders against other Rare commanders, but Sturmbeest has an Uncommon (Entok) versus a Rare (Atan). The choice here is up to your gameplay, but given Entok is more accessible in the game, I gave Entok the nod as one of the best Na’vi Commanders in Avatar: Pandora Rising, and the top dog at hunting Sturmbeest.
