SWGoH: Best Mods for The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian - SWGoH

Welcome to the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for each SWGoH character. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every character I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations and they are certainly not the only option. However we look to help players maximize their characters in SWGoH and we are always open to feedback if you have a mod setup that works well for your gameplay.

The Mandalorian - SWGoHToday’s character to review mods for will be the star of The Mandalorian TV series on Disney+ – The Mandalorian himself. While we learn that (spoiler alert) his name is Din Djarin in the Season 1 finale, the version we have in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes beginning on April 30, 2020 is the version of the character we see at the beginning of the series – before (spoiler alert) he gets his Beskar armor. Let’s take a look at the mods that will best suit his kit to maximize The Mandalorian’s effectiveness in SWGoH.

Main Focus: Speed. With a base Speed of 164 at Gear 13, The Mandalorian has above average Speed, but not as high as recent additions to the game in Cara Dune, Greef Karga, Moff Gideon and The Armorer That having been said, he is an attacker and nearly every attacker in SWGoH needs to focus first on Speed to maximize their effectiveness, but I recommend doing so in the secondary mod stats.

Additional Areas to Focus: Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Offense, and survivability in the forms of Health, Protection and Tenacity. Since The Mandalorian’s kit is built around critical hits and buffs, and not debuffs inflicted upon enemies like most other Bounty Hunters in SWGoH, Potency is not needed. But because of the way his kit is so focused on critical hits, adding Critical Chance should be atop your list with Critical Damage close behind to make sure all of those crits are doing as much damage as possible. At Gear 13 The Mandalorian has 52.08% CC, and maxed out at Relic 7 he reaches 85.96% CC, both numbers before mods. Adding more Offense will only help in this area as well. Finally, boosting The Mandalorian’s survivability will help keep him alive and critting regularly, so focus on Health due to his 30% Health Steal at Gear 13 and Protection to keep him in line with Bounty Hunter leaders who boost Protection like Greef Karga and Bossk. In addition, if The Mandalorian ends up in lineups under a The Armorer lead, added Health will boost the opening Protection Up for battles and additional Protection is helpful there as well. Finally, added Tenacity will help avoid debuffs like Ability Block, Critical Chance down and Buff Immunity which can derail the strengths of his kit. Note that The Mandalorian’s Relic upgrades impact his Health, Critical Chance and Critical Damage the most while also boosting his Armor and Resistance.

Speed Priority: 6/10 – Mando is more effective with higher Speed, but I am not calling for a Speed set or your best Speed secondaries. Unless you just want to have one of the best groups of Bounty Hunters SWGoH has ever seen, you can prioritize strong but not awesome mods for The Mandalorian.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Critical Damage & Health. While Critical Damage is obvious, the Health recommendation by the devs must be based on the fact that he revives at 100% Health, effectively giving him double Health in this stats. Otherwise, The Mandalorian does not have a heavy focus on high Health in his kit. Further testing and gameplay is important and while Health is a good stat to boost for Mando, I see added Critical Chance as much more valuable, especially before you get him to Gear 13.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH The Mandalorian:

The “ideal mod setup” can be interpreted a few different ways, but as I explained above I am suggesting a set of four Critical Damage mods and a set of two Critical Chance mods. Here are my recommendations for mods on The Mandalorian in SWGoH:

  • Transmitter (Square) – Critical Chance mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, health, critical chance and offense
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Critical Damage mod with speed primary and a secondary focus on critical chance health, offense and tenacity
  • Processor (Diamond) – Critical Damage mod with defense primary and a secondary focus on speed, tenacity, critical chance and offense or health
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Critical Chance mod with critical damage primary and a secondary focus on speed, health, critical chance and offense
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Critical Damage mod with protection primary and a secondary focus on speed, critical chance, offense and health or tenacity
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Critical Damage mod with health, tenacity or offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, critical chance and health, offense or tenacity
