Harry Potter: Wizards Unite features a variety of challenges and tasks to help keep players grinding and motivated to see what is next. When the game first launched in 2019, the SOS Assignment called Dynamic Dilemma read “Defeat 10 Formidable Pixie Foes in Wizarding Challenges.” This proved to be much more difficult for many in the community than originally expected, but our article on finding Formidable Pixies in our HPWU questions answered series became popular as a result. Today, we take a look at finding any formidable foes (2-star enemies) in Wizarding Challenges (Fortresses).
Wizarding Challenges (Fortresses) are not an exact science, and most players will not be able to replicate the same experience as another by entering the same chamber by using the same Runestone. However, the experiences of playing this game for the past 15 months have painted a pretty clear picture on what a player needs to do to increase their chances of finding a Formidable foe in a Wizarding Challenges.
So what chambers should I fight to find Formidable foes?
While this is not as specific as most would like, we have found that Ruins V through Tower V are your best bet to find Formidable foes. Typically, I would not recommend using level 1 or level 5 Runestones, however that does not mean that either will eliminate the chance to find a Formidable foe. For me, personally, in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries – Part 2 held in September 2020, I targeted Towers 1-3 using level 2, 3 and 4 Runestones and had very good success completing the task on the event’s bonus page quickly.
Finding Formidable Foes – The Data:
When I originally published this earlier today, I did so based on experience and did not have specific data to back it up. While the sample size is small, I tested this out and tracked the results gathering the following:
- 5 Fortress battles
- 19 enemies faced
- 11 Formidable foes (2-star enemies)
In each battle I fought in a Tower II using a Level 3 Magizoology Runestone.
I hope this helps you in your quest to find Formidable (2-star) foes in Fortresses. Feel free to Tweet us @GamingFansDFN anytime with game feedback, questions, etc.
