SWGoH: Best Mods for Eighth Brother

SWGoH - 8th Brother

Welcome to the best mods for Eighth Brother, the latest article in our series about the popular game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes where we take a look at the best mods for SWGoH characters. While I do not claim to have all of the answers in this game, I do my research and have used every toon I write about extensively. These are mod recommendations based on the character’s kit and actual gameplay to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables.

Today’s character to review mods for will be Eighth Brother, one of the new Inquisitorius character added in Galaxy of Heroes in early 2022. In a group where one character looks like the other and none are that important in Star Wars lore (for now), the Eighth Brother is the skinny dude who frequently goes under Stealth. Let’s take a look at the best mods for Eighth Brother to make him more effective on your roster.

Eighth Brother - SWGoHMain Focus: Speed is almost always the main focus of mods on SWGoH characters, and with Eighth Brother being an Attacker, like teammate Second Sister, Speed will play heavily into his kit. You’re going to want him attacking again and again while the team builds more and more stacks of the Purge debuff, which then makes his Bladed Hilt special more effective. A Speed set is definitely in play here as he has a base Speed of 186, good for the 10th highest non-Galactic Legend character’s base Speed in the game at the time of this original post. But while Speed is in play the Eighth Brother feels like a better fit for Potency, CC or CD mod sets instead. The Critical Chance and Critical Damage combo seems to make the most sense as the Eighth Brother thanks to his strong Physical Damage stat added to the Defense Penetration from his unique and a high base Physical CC (nearly 69%) at Relic 5.

Additional Areas to Focus: Potency, Speed, Offense and survivability in the forms of Health and Protection. Potency is huge for all members of the Inquisitorius faction as you want stacks of Purge to pile up on the enemies. Then, when consumed, additional effects are gained, thus making Potency extremely important. Speed is important for a character with 186 as a base Speed, but like all in the faction, Eighth Brother also gains 3% Turn Meter whenever a stack of Purge is dispelled or consumed, and with all of the stacks of Purge this team puts out, this should work right into their hands. Survivability stats to look at are Health and Protection, both of which are increased by +20% when all allies are Inquisitorius at the start of the battle. Finally, Offense is never a bad stat to enhance on any character who has a CC/CD focus as it just boosts the damage from attacks, and Eighth Brother has the second highest Physical Damage stat of the original five Inquisitors.

In-game Mod Recommendations: Critical Chance & Critical Damage. Eighth Brother’s potential to be very effective on offense is there, but even after completing Conquest 16 with a red crate reward, my Eighth Brother is still just Gear 11 and does not hit very hard. For now I have no reason to disagree with the CC/CD recommendations and I typically find the recommendations by the devs on new characters to be spot-on.

Ideal Mod Setup for SWGoH Eighth Brother:

The “ideal mod setup” can be interpreted a few different ways. If you target Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Potency, Speed, Health and Protection through the mods you should be able to maximize the Eighth Brother’s kit. Here are my recommendations for the best mods for Eighth Brother:

  • Transmitter (Square) – Critical Damage mod with offense primary and a secondary focus on speed, protection, potency and offense or health
  • Receiver (Arrow) – Critical Chance mod with speed primary – any protection, offense or potency gained from secondary stats is a bonus
  • Processor (Diamond) – Critical Damage mod with defense primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, potency, health or protection
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – Critical Damage mod with critical damage primary – any speed, offense, potency, health or protection added is a bonus
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – Critical Damage mod with protection primary and a secondary focus on speed, potency, offense, health or protection
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – Critical Chance mod with potency primary and a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and protection secondaries
