SWGoH: Unlocking Jabba the Hutt – Live Blog & Walkthrough Guide

Jabba the Hutt event - SWGoH

The seventh Galactic Legend event in SWGoH is here, and unlike the first three rounds, where two Gas were released each time, this time we get a stand-alone character as the latest Galactic Legend – Jabba the Hutt. Jabba the Hutt is a Bounty Hunter, Scoundrel and Smuggler and the leader of the Hutt Cartel, which will play out nicely in his use in-game. The first GL to be a Support character, here we will look to show fans how to efficiently add him to their rosters. Despite being very well prepared for this GL event, the timing of the marquee characters slowed down my progress significantly as I will be a couple of weeks behind in unlocking Jabba in SWGoH.

Below I will be live blogging and giving a guide to my experience with the Galactic Legend event. While I have not avoided videos and opinions of others on this Galactic Legend event, I am hopeful that I can add Jabba the Hutt to the roster as efficiently as possible. I hope you enjoy and can learn from this.

Tier I Characters Used:

  • Gamorrean Guard – Relic 3 – 20,677 power – 205 speed, 74.9k health, 61k protection, 66.72% potency, 56.36% tenacity, all abilities maxed
  • Mob Enforcer – Relic 3 – 20,632 power – 251 speed, 47k health, 54k protection, 98.39% potency, all abilities maxed

Greetings, Exalted One – Tier I

Tier I can be fought 6 times, at a cost of 15 Dark Side Currency each time, granting 10 shards each time for a total of 60 shards

Attempt #1 – Boushh Leia unfreezes Han from the Carbonite only to have Jabba laugh at them both, just like the scene in Return of the Jedi. Facing Boushh Leia and Han with carbonate sickness, this is not an easy battle with my lame 5-dot mods and lower power characters. The strategy is to go after Boushh Leia with all of the offense possible, using Jabba to (hopefully) slow her down, and remove buffs from Han when he gets them with GG. I will fight future battles with far better mods to ensure this battle does not result in wasted time and resources.

Tier I Characters (Updated):

  • Gamorrean Guard – Relic 3 – 23,998 power – 248 speed, 87.9k health, 70k protection, 52% potency, 46.6% tenacity, all abilities maxed
  • Mob Enforcer – Relic 3 – 21,133 power – 314 speed, 59k health, 45k protection, 99.07% potency, all abilities maxed

Attempt #2 – Despite a successful first attempt, I felt it necessary to remod and see if there is a significant difference in the battle. I used General Kenobi’s saved mod set on GG and Bastia Shan (Fallen)’s mod set on Mob Enforcer to gain these stats. This battle is far smoother as GG can soak up a lot more damage and I get an easy win.

Tier II Characters Used:

  • Boba Fett – Relic 8 – 33,292 power – 285 speed, 60k health, 39k protection, 79% potency, 240% CD, all abilities maxed
  • Mob Enforcer – Relic 3 – 21,133 power – 314 speed, 59k health, 45k protection, 99.07% potency, all abilities maxed

Greetings, Exalted One – Tier II

Tier II can be fought 3 times, at a cost of 30 Dark Side Currency each time, granting 20 shards each time for a total of 60 shards

Attempt #1 – Fighting Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, I focus on keeping Thermal Detonators on JKLS as much as possible and with these mods this is an easy win.

Tier III Characters Used:

  • Gamorrean Guard – Relic 3 – 23,998 power – 248 speed, 87.9k health, 70k protection, 52% potency, 46.6% tenacity, all abilities maxed
  • Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker – Relic 3 – 34,902 power – 261 speed, 83k health, 100k protection, 192% critical damage, all abilities maxed

Greetings, Exalted One – Tier III

Tier III can be fought 2 times, at a cost of 60 Dark Side Currency each time, granting 50 shards each time for a total of 100 shards

Attempt #1 – This battle is quite straightforward as you use Luke’s special abilities when available, keep a debuff on the Rancor at all times, and try to keep the GG taunting.

Tier IV Characters Used:

  • Boba Fett – Relic 8 – 33,292 power – 285 speed, 60k health, 39k protection, 79% potency, 122.69% CC, 240% CD, all abilities maxed
  • Mob Enforcer – Relic 3 – 21,133 power – 314 speed, 59k health, 45k protection, 99.07% potency, all abilities maxed

Greetings, Exalted One – Tier IV

Tier IV can be fought 2 times, at a cost of 70 Dark Side Currency each time, granting 55 shards each time for a total of 110 shards

Attempt #1 – Fighting on the Desert Skiff, Boba Fett, the Mob Enforcer and a filler tank take on Chewie, Skiff Guard Lando and Han Solo with Carbonite Sickness which leaves him blind. The key is to get them on their knees ASAP, and I start with Chewie the first time and then Han the second time. You have to be fast enough and have the offense to do this around SGL’s ability where he grants Stealth to an ally, so be sure to use strong mods here to avoid dropping a battle.

Tier V Characters Used:

  • Jabba the Hutt – Relic 7 – 42,928 power – 515 speed, 138k health, 69k protection, 104.33% potency, 127.98% tenacity, all abilities maxed – Health & Speed mods
  • Gamorrean Guard – Relic 3 – 23,998 power – 248 speed, 87.9k health, 70k protection, 52% potency, 46.6% tenacity, all abilities maxed
  • Mob Enforcer – Relic 3 – 20,632 power – 251 speed, 47k health, 54k protection, 98.39% potency, all abilities maxed

Greetings, Exalted One – Tier V

Tier V can be fought 12 times granting 1 Ability Material Ultimate for each victory

Attempt #1 – Because I will be fighting this battle with Jabba, I make sure to have the best mods for Jabba the Hutt equipped and ensure that Mob Enforcer and Gamorrean Guard are well-modded also. I also waited until I was able to get Jabba’s Relic level up to ensure he is strong enough for the battle to be a (hopeful) sure-win.

My trio is joined by Huttslayer Leia, in the “Slave Leia” costume from ROTJ. After getting this battle started, I am quite glad that I did not attempt before strengthening my team. I would not suggest fighting this battle with a much weaker team as taking them out, one-by-one, was no easy task.

Attempt #2 – The first battle was not as smooth as I would have liked, but I feel confident with my mods and where the characters are in terms of Relic levels. Plus, I am not convinced that investing more into either the Gam Guard or Mob Enforcer is a good use of Relic mats. I do, however, have Jabba up to Relic 8 now so here are his revised stats:

  • Jabba the Hutt – Relic 8 – 45,271 power – 519 speed, 143k health, 67k protection, 104.33% potency, 131.76% tenacity, all abilities maxed – Health & Speed mods

Using the same lineup with the other two with the exact same mods and stats, knocking Chewie out first this time. Once again it is much closer than I had hoped, but all of my characters lived through the battle with Jabba nearly unscathed, and I got the win.
