Koboh is a HUGE planet in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor so we’re breaking it into a few different articles:
The second planet you experience in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is Koboh, the new home of Greez Dritus. After crash landing you seek our Greez and find that the Bedlam Raiders seem to be the bad guys, along with a few animals on the planet. The Bedlam Raiders have an army of reprogrammed and modified Separatist B1 and B2 Battle Droids. and as you progress you find a chest/crate with one of the game’s greatest unlocks ever – an upgrade to Cal’s beard.
Near the meditation circle there is a broken bridge that you can jump across which will lead you to a fight with a Gorocco, and in the cave after the fight you will find a Force Essence.
On multiple occasions, Roller Mines appear and can be used to force push/throw at targets and unlock your next move or path. With this in mind, they’re a Force Essence that is obtainable from this exact strategy. Lead a roller mine near where the Prospector stands and throw it off the cliff into an area with a blue glow to open a path to a Force Essence.
Eventually, you meet Mosey and start to have a better idea of where to find Greez. A full beard is in your next crate as you progress down the mountain., but animals continue to be your biggest challenge here. You make it to Rambler’s Reach Outpost and a scene ensues that forces Cal to step in as you have a mini-boss fight with Zeik, one of the Bedlam Raiders. Nearby in Swindler’s Wash there is a Force Tear that is parkour-based challenge behind the small waterfall. Then it is time to go Pyloon’s Saloon is the next progression of the story as you meet up with Greez and catch up on the past. We get updates on Merrin and Cere, future quests I would expect, and Greez offers Cal a spare room in the basement to rest up.
After resting you get to explore the Smuggler’s Tunnel where you will acquire a Skill Point and fight some animals. While working n finding the Gyro for the Mantis, the ground gives way and you fall into another mission. You will stumble upon a broken-down droid and use the Force to get the backstory on the droid and her Jedi Master, Santari Khri. ZN-A4 or Zee has been here for hundreds of years and in order to free her you need to use the Force on several orbs to solve a puzzle to free the droid. Zee will lead you to a Force Essence where you acquire a Perk which will be more valuable over time. You head back up to the surface and into town and when you get to the saloon Bode is there looking for Cal and Zee has a mission. Bode and Greez agree to go fix up the Mantis while Cal and Zee head to the forest to complete her hundreds year old mission.
In the Basalt Rift you will see a Stormtrooper thrown out of a ravine where you find a Mogu, which looks like a black-furred Wampa. From the Mogu you take the path down and to the right and you will find a Stim upgrade. (See: Where do I find Stim Canisters in Jedi Survivor?)
While adventuring around you will find the doors that Zee used the ancient device on to open. These send you on a side quest into the Chamber of Reason.
One perplexing piece to the Koboh puzzle is called Koboh Dust, a matter of sorts that resembles a swarm of bees almost and basically needs to be avoided. Mustafar Nathan and I theorized that fire or wind could make it go away and it simply came down to avoiding it initially and you find it can even make up walls. As you progress the orb/ball things used earlier to get through the puzzles in the Chamber of Reason and other areas again are important as you use one of these to enable a laser-like beam of light that repels the Koboh Dust and opens up new paths as you near the Forest Array. This eventually also frees the trapped large dinosaur bird and allows you to reach the Forest Array.
As you work your way up the Forest Array you get to the Rehabilitation Wing where you discover a bacta tank and a male with one arm in it. You use the Force to tap into memories as we flash back to the High Republic and learn more about Dagan Gera and the planet Tanalorr in the Abyss, before freeing Gera from the tank after he senses you in the flashback. He then (SPOILER ALERT) turns out to be the Malicos of this game and you have to fight him after his anger corrupts his kyber crystal.
The battle with Malicos 2.0, I mean Dagan Gera is a tough one and it may require some to go grind out more Skill Points to better prepare for the battle.
Research Tanalorr on Koboh via the Stone Spires
We return to Koboh after our stop on the Shattered Moon of Koboh and talk to a few people in the Saloon then head out to the Riverbed Watch and then glide to the Igneous Fissure. More gliding will get you to a Devastated Settlement and a battle with Korej Lim, a Haxion Brood Bounty Hunter which is witnessed by Caij, who appears to be a female of the same species as Kit Fisto. She wants to eliminate the Bounty Hunters in the areas and will reward Cal for each that he takes care of. Up above Caij’s perch, you climb up and face some enemies, including a Gorocco, who seems to not like the power of your new cross guard lightsaber. More gliding brings us to an island of sorts in the Devastated Settlement and in the room you move the holocron-looking block to remove the Koboh Matter and then get the orb which is needed outside to use in the laser thing and remove some Koboh Matter below. Glide down to a landing and kill some B1 droids, and more Goroccos as you once again need to find a ball and force it to another spot. BD unlocks a Koboh Matter shooter of sorts and can be used to connect Koboh Matter on walls and allow the lasers to burn it off and open climbing and jumping areas. Some of that climbing pays off with a Force Essence which increases maximum Force. Take another ball outside and remove more Koboh Dust with the laser and glide down for more action where you kill a Bedlam Raider, then use a box to prop open a door to get the ball out and into the laser to remove more Koboh Dust. More ball moving, more Koboh Dust burning and more gliding and we finally get to the Grand Courtyard where you find a meditation circle.
Walk into the building and immediately you face off with Tague Louesh, a double-bladed lightsaber-wielding foe. Again, the cross guard lightsaber is quite helpful, and after defeating him, exploring the area and inside of the building sees you find another strange High Republic-era device.
When returning to Koboh next it is to Search for Compass on Koboh, and we have created a page dedicated just to this.
Alignment Control Center
The Alignment Control Center is a strange area on Koboh with a bunch of older-looking tech and this structure/puzzle pictured. We found this earlier in the game and just returned after our time in the Phon’qi Caverns. We will revisit the Alignment Control Center again once more of the map has been explored. We climb up out of the area and return to the map to explore.
Foothill Falls, Mountain Ascent & Fogged Expanse
Now in Foothill Falls, we push the storyline forward. After you glide across there is a house (pictured) with a metal-like door that we cannot get through. To get to the Stim Canister in the room you need to grapple to the balloon floating above and jumping down onto the platform below which has a terminal that BD-1 can slice and produces a roller mine. Force the roller mine off the edge into the house through the hole in the roof and it will open the door with the Stim Canister behind it.
Next, follow the main path go to the zip line up to the glider animal and jump across the pong and grapple across to the wall in the distance and climb. Head into the cave and you find some birds flying away at the Mountain Ascent. We find two Stormtroopers behind a green laser gate and it is fun to mess with them with Jedi Mind Tricks. You unlock the ability to slice Security Droids and find a Force Echo then head up the path to a meditation circle and save. Another green laser gate with Imperials including a Security Droid, then grapple across the water after defeating them. Go for a swim and get a Light Mustaches and go into a cave and Force the door open to find a chest and a bunch of shiverpedes. Then down to the middle there is erased TIE Fighter. Back up top we jump across a gap and more Imperials, and the Flametrooper is another great place for a Jedi Mind Trick. Jump across a large gap toward some buildings and unlock a shortcut and get a priority shard, then find more Stormtroopers across another large gap. Another Flametrooper is helpful here as several shiverpedes attack as you deal with the Imperials. Jump down into the ravine to take out the Bilemaws and find a Force Echo then start to explore again.
We creep through a wall and get to the Fogged Expanse where we find a meditation circle and save. The door beside it is locked and will be a shortcut to come back later. We proceed and kill four bramliks around this spooky “ghost town” where fight a a mogul and then a roller mine before fining more priorite. Jump, dash and grapple across a big gap and fight another mogu by the doorway to another area, and after defeating him there is a Force Echo in the room. Next we start climbing and ceiling walk and jump across a gap to unlock a shortcut zip line. Jump across a huge gap and 8 roller droids attack and you get a Soul Patch. We soon face off with a Vile Bilemaw and you can protect yourself from too much damage in mine entry with an elevator that takes you up above. Exploring more we find a Focre Essence and gain the Fortitude perk. Jump across and climb to a platform and do some crazy parkour and eventually find several Imperials around a firey wreckage. Defeat them and jump up to the shuttle and crawl around for a real adventure. BD-1 gets an Electro Dart unlocked and you can use this to make panels move and allow you to explore those areas. Save at the meditation circle and push forward, utilizing the Electro Dart to get into buildings in the Fogged Expanse. Fight some Imperials as you climb to the Mountain Observatory and don’t miss the Force Essence to gain more Health. After the initial wall runs there is a platform to the left that allows you to backtrack past where you started and a Force Essence up on the cliff. Go fight more Stormtroopers, then use the zip line across to kill two more. With the Observatory in sight, continue to jump, dash and grapple your way up to Imperial Post 8L-055. Head toward the area with TIE Fighters and take out the Security Droid and Stormtroopers and then the waves of enemies after the initial group. Head up the elevator and into the base and explore and eventually you slice a terminal and get to fight one of the best bosses in the game, Rick The Door Technician. Take the elevator to the top and work your way around Summit Ridge (pictured). Use BD’s new ability to jump a huge gap and you can take the elevator mine cart back to Foothill Falls for a huge shortcut unlock.
Next, we need to Confront Dagan at the Koboh Observatory.
