The Rise of the Empire Territory Battle continues to evolve after being launched in December 2022 with a new planet available to unlock in Phase 2. Unlike previous Territory Battles in SWGoH, the Rise of the Empire TB features Light Side, Dark Side and Neutral paths and Platoons are now called Operations.
The Rise of the Empire Territory Battle features six Phases which last 24 hours each. Each of the six Phases of the event has a Special Mission rewarding Mk III Guild Event Tokens in Phases 1, 4, 5 and 6 and Reva (Third Sister) shards in Phase 3.
The following is a Walkthrough of my experiences in Phase 2 that will be updated over time. Specifically, this covers the Special Mission on the Light Side map that requires Cere Junda and any Cal Kestis variant at Relic 7 or higher. Completing this Special Mission 30 times will unlock the bonus planet of Zeffo, seen in Jedi: Fallen Order and the Bad Batch.
Phase 2 Combat Mission Requirements:
- Cere Junda – Relic 7+
- Any Cal Kestis – Relic 7+
My Roster of Characters:
- Total Power – 69,592
- Cere Junda – Relic 7 – 32,328 power – Health & Defense mods
- Jedi Knight Cal Kestis – Relic 8 – 37,264 power – Offense & Health mods – Omicron on leader ability
Phase 2 Special Mission Battle Notes:
My plan here is to see how the battle goes this first time around and make adjustments in the next Territory Battle to mods, etc. as needed. All relevant abilities are maxed but the lone Omicron is Jedi Knight Cal Kestis’ leader ability which adds significant Max Health, Protection and Defense.
07.12.23 – In this battle we fight against two Purge Troopers to start. I save the AoE dispel and thank myself later for doing so when an Imperial Probe Droid appears and taunts. The enemies focus their attacks on Cere, and the Omicron on JKCK is looking like a wise move as she handles the attacks with ease. I play the long game and attack patiently adding an Armor Shred to one Purge Trooper before Cal’s big hit comes up and I kill off on Purge Trooper. From here it is keeping the crew alive and adding Bonus Protection when possible to finish off the other Purge Trooper.
The second wave of enemies is a Purge Trooper and Second Sister. In this battle Cere starts to take significant damage and her lack of high-end mods shows. I am thinking more Defense on JKCK will be wise to increase his Defense in future battles as I lose Cere and kill Second Sister, but the IPD and Purge Trooper finish off Cal and end my run.
Attempt #2 – Phase 2 Light Side Special Mission – Unlocking Zeffo
My Roster of Characters:
- Total Power – 69,592
- Cere Junda – Relic 7 – 32,328 power – Health & Defense mods
- Jedi Knight Cal Kestis – Relic 8 – 37,264 power – Offense & Health mods – Omicron on leader ability & Impetuous Assault
Phase 2 Special Mission Battle Notes:
I have added a new Omicron on Jedi Knight Cal Kestis so he now has it on his leader ability which adds significant Max Health, Protection and Defense, and the Impetuous Assault special which impacts his offense and his allies’ offense, something that lacked in my first battle.
07.26.23 – The two Purge Troopers to start and I purposely save the AoE dispel thanks to the notes from the first battle two weeks ago. Once again I handle the attacks of the Purge Troopers with relative ease, being careful not to allow Cere to fall below Max Protection and use my insta-kill on the stronger PT as I cruise through the first wave.
Now for the tough part. Second Sister and a Purge Trooper greet me and the dispel on Jedi Knight Cal’s basic is awesome to have available. I use a basic to start on the Purge Trooper and get an Armor Shred, then the enemies start to hone in on JKCK, so I heal up a bit as the IPD joins and helps the enemies out. A couple of Windmill Defenses help Cal keep moving along and the PT is in yellow health as you can really see the benefit of the added Offense with Cere from the newly-added Omicron to JKCK. The PT is finished off and Cere heals Cal up and I play patiently as the insta-kill comes up and I take Second Sister out for the win.
Phase 2 Light Side Special Mission – Unlocking Zeffo
My Roster of Characters:
- Total Power – 69,724
- Cere Junda – Relic 7 – 32,427 power – Health & Defense mods
- Jedi Knight Cal Kestis – Relic 8 – 37,297 power – Offense & Health mods – Omicron on leader ability & Impetuous Assault
Phase 2 Special Mission Battle Notes:
09.20.23 – Heading into battle today, my guild mates are 2 for 14 so far on this mission. After feeling I had things under control in July as noted above, and in both attempts in August for a 3-fight win streak, my attempt in early September failed miserably. Any one time things go wrong it can be a fluke, but today we will see if there is a trend or not. I upgrade a couple of mods which enhance Cere’s Protection stat.
The first wave of enemies goes exactly as planned. I slow the Purge Troopers, dispel the IPD when it comes and taunts, then explodes and does it again, and work the Purge Trooper who got the early Armor Shred down, then kill the other. Staying very defensive in the first 2-3 moves is the key here IMO as I use Cere’s special and Cal’s Protection Up to shield them both and allow JKCK the time to get to his ultimate and kill the other PT.
The second wave is all defense on my side, choosing to keep boosting Cere until Cal gets to 30 stacks. When he does it comes just after I killed the PT and I use the ultimate on Second Sister to get the win, my 4th in the last 5 attempts.
UPDATE: Each battle in October and November, as well as my first battle in December 2023 have gone exactly the same way as the September 20 battle above, making it 10 of 11 and 90.9% success.
