SWGoH – Geonosis: Republic Offensive Phase 3 Combat Mission, South – Jedi, 22,000+ Power

Geonosis Territory Battles

The Geonosian Territory Battles were launched in June 2019 starting with with the Dark Side battles, officially named Geonosis: Separatist Might and then followed by Geonosis: Republic Offensive on the Light Side in December.

The Geonosis: Republic Offensive Territory Battle features four Phases which, at least at the start, last 36 hours each. Each of the four Phases of the event has a Special Mission rewarding Mk II Guild Event Tokens in Phases 1, 2 and 4 and Ki-Adi-Mundi shards in Phase 3.

The following is a Walkthrough of my experiences in Phase 3 that will be updated over time. Phase 3 has five Combat Missions, including the Ki-Adi-Mundi shard mission, along with one of the Combat Missions requiring 7-star, 22,000+ power Jedi and one requiring Galactic Republic Jedi. Below is what I used on this specific mission:

Phase 3 (South) Jedi Combat Mission Requirements:

  • Minimum 7-star characters, 22,000+ Power
  • Jedi

My Roster of Jedi Heroes:

  • Jedi Knight Revan – now 29,844 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 3 – Six 6-dot mods (Offense & CC sets) – all abilities maxed, 293 speed
  • Bastila Shan – now 24,496 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 2 – Five 6-dot mods & 1 Gold, 5-dot mod (Offense & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 252 speed
  • Grand Master Yoda – 25,399 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 4 – Five 6-dot mods & 1 Gold, 5-dot mod (CD & CC sets) – all abilities maxed (except leader ability), 288 speed
  • Jolee Bindo – 30,042 power – Gear 13, Relic 7 – 7-stars – Four 6-dot mods & 2 Gold, 5-dot mods (Health, Defense & Tenacity sets) – all abilities maxed, 229 speed
  • Hermit Yoda – now 24,397 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 1 – Two 6-dot mods, four gold, 5-dot mods (Speed & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 305 speed

Phase 3 (South) Jedi Combat Mission Battle Notes:

01.20.20 – This battle may be the biggest display of how stupid this Territory Battle event as a whole really is. When characters who have $100 plus invested into them are one-shot or destroyed before taking a turn it shows you the lack of understanding from the developers in my opinion. This shows zero respect for the investments, whether recent or past, that players have made into the game.

After GMY is depleted and auto-revived by JKR’s leader ability, I start working on the B2 and lose JKR. After reviving him and getting all of my characters to near full-health and protection, the Geo Spy one-shots my Relic 2 Bastila. Now a 4 vs 3, I have JKR’s target on the Geo Spy as I look to remove him first, then the second Geo Soldier, leaving the MagnaGaurd until last. For now though, I am trying to space this out so that I can get another revive from Jolee before this wave is completed. I am able to time it right and go into the second wave with my full team.

The second wave of enemies features two B1s, a B1 Heavy Gunner, a Sniper Droid, a BX-series Commando Droid and a Geonosian Spy. Because of the Sniper Droid’s stacking offense, I target him with JKR and am able to take him out rather fast, but then the enemies get 8-10 attacks in leaving JKR and GMY barely alive. I am able to remove both B1s from the screen then lose GMY to the Geo Spy’s crazy attack. I take out the Heavy Gunner and then stun the Geo Spy and kill him as well, then Jolee revives GMY and I have just the Commando Droid left and my full team on the board. Now with 775,500 Territory Points, I move on.

The third wave of enemies is a full team of 5(+1) Geonosians with GBA at the lead. This battle proves to be about as difficult as they come, where I once again use JKR to target the GBA and try to remove him only to have zero success. JKR and GMY are killed rather quickly, and later revived, but the momentum is all in the enemy’s favor and I am down and out with 775,500 Territory Points to show for my efforts.

My Updated Roster of Jedi Heroes:

  • Jedi Knight Revan – now 29,754 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 3 – Four 6-dot mods & 2 Gold, 5-dot mods (Offense & CC sets) – all abilities maxed, 287 speed
  • General Anakin Skywalker – now 37,504 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 7 – Six 6-dot mods (3 Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 279 speed
  • Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker – 26,773 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 3 – Four 6-dot mods & 2 Gold, 5-dot mods (Offense & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 152 speed
  • Jolee Bindo – 30,087 power – Gear 13, Relic 7 – 7-stars – Five 6-dot mods & 1 Gold, 5-dot mods (Health, Defense & Tenacity sets) – all abilities maxed, 234 speed
  • Hermit Yoda – now 26,863 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 3 – Six 6-dot mods (Speed & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 310 speed

Phase 3 (South) Jedi Combat Mission Battle Notes:

07.19.20 – After months off on the live blog/walkthrough I am back today in a strange situation. Of course most guilds stagger their efforts in this Territory Battle, coming to a score close to 1-star and then leaving it for the next phase of the event. As a result our middle territory is now closed off and I was late in attacking, so I have my full lineup available to his this Combat Mission. In the end I chose Hermit Yoda over Grand Master Yoda for the added survivability over more offense in this battle.

The first two waves of enemies were not terribly difficult to navigate through, although Geonosian Spies are just a pain in the butt to face in this event no matter how many Relics you have on your heroes. Use JKLS and GAS on this board means a lot of offensive firepower, and JKLS had some timely stuns in the first two waves.

The third wave of enemies includes a Sniper Droid, and I set things up well to have JKR up first and his Direct Focus special attack available. Had I not taken out the Sniper Droid first there is no way I could have survived this battle as I struggled keeping the the B1 and B2’s stacks from rising, but Jolee’s revives were the key as I eventually got the B2 down, and then the B1. After that I took out the Geo and worked on refreshing cool downs with basic attacks and allowed HYoda to heal before heading into the 4th and final wave of enemies.

The final wave of enemies featured two B1s, a B2, a BX-series Commando Droid and General Kalani. General Kalani has a unique called Calculated Approach which means that the B1s cannot lose more than 8 stacks in a single character’s turn and the B2s cannot lose more than a single stack, and this drastically changes the strategy in this battle. After targeting a B1 and realizing the error of my ways, I take a ton of hits and lose JKR, Jolee and GAS leaving just the Jedi Knight Luke and Hermit Yoda combo. I quickly switch gears to hitting the Commando Droid and with the mechanics of the assists and a well-timed heal, I take him out. However my blunder at the beginning of this battle is my downfall as I get killed scoring just 1,014,750 Territory Points for my Guild.

My Updated & Revised Roster of Jedi Heroes:

  • Jedi Knight Revan – now 31,893 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 5 – Six 6-dot mods (Offense & CC sets) – all abilities maxed, 290 speed
  • Grand Master Yoda – 25,354 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 4 – Four 6-dot mods & 2 Gold, 5-dot mod (CD & CC sets) – all abilities maxed (except leader ability), 280 speed
  • Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker – 26,760 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 4 – Four 6-dot mods & 2 Gold, 5-dot mods (Offense & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 152 speed
  • Jolee Bindo – 30,087 power – Gear 13, Relic 7 – 7-stars – Five 6-dot mods & 1 Gold, 5-dot mods (Health, Defense & Tenacity sets) – all abilities maxed, 234 speed
  • Hermit Yoda – now 27,850 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 4 – Six 6-dot mods (Speed & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 310 speed

Phase 3 (South) Jedi Combat Mission Battle Notes:

08.19.20 – With the way my guild handled the territories, I used GAS with Ahsoka Tano in the Phase 2 Middle Combat Mission, so Grand Master Yoda returns to my lineup. Since I have been using JKR in the Squad Arena with Rey of late, he has been upgraded a bit which you can see in the stats above.

This lineup did very well in the first two waves of enemies – I will not bore you with the details. The third wave was a real challenge and the AoE attacks of Jedi Luke, GMY, JKR were critical to my success. Surviving as long as possible while weakening the group is important, then, once you get the taunt off of the Geonosian Brute you need to kill the standard Geonosians as quickly as possible, with GBA being the most important one. I cannot stress the importance of JKL against this wave of enemies – his AoE stun and ability to dispel on his basic are very helpful and made moving on possible.

The fourth wave of enemies will not catch me being sloppy this time, however it is the T-Series Tactical Droid and not General Kalani this time. The Tactical Droid’s Calculated Odds ability says that droid allies cannot be countered and B1 allies can critically hit. A bit different than last time, so the mass attack approach should work. I am able to take out the B2 and feel pretty good about things and then all Hell breaks loose. One turn from Jolee, and no revive available, is sandwiched in between 20+ attacks from the enemies leaving the B1 with 324 stacks of Droid Battalion and only JKL alive. Wow. 1,105,000 is as far as I am going to get on this one apparently.

My Updated & Revised Roster of Jedi Heroes:

  • Jedi Master Luke Skywalker – 38,481 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 5 – Six 6-dot mods (Speed & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 522 speed
  • General Skywalker – 37,504 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 7 – Six 6-dot mods (3 Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 277 speed
  • Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker – 32,283 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 7 – Five 6-dot mods & 1 Gold, 5-dot mods (Offense & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 153 speed
  • Jolee Bindo – 30,087 power – Gear 13, Relic 7 – 7-stars – Five 6-dot mods & 1 Gold, 5-dot mods (Health, Defense & Tenacity sets) – all abilities maxed, 234 speed
  • Hermit Yoda – 28,912 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 5 – Six 6-dot mods (Speed & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 312 speed

Phase 3 (South) Jedi Combat Mission Battle Notes:

10.17.20 – With new characters come new ways to beat these boards, so let’s test out Jedi Master Luke Skywalker’s leadership here. After a couple of hits the first wave of enemies eliminate Jedi Master Luke’s protection and I get a bit worried, but after he throws force blasts at them and his younger self, JKLS stuns them, I control the battle with ease.

The second wave of enemies have a Sniper Droid, so Jolee calls JMLS to assist and he adds Buff Immunity right away. After this I control this wave with ease as well as Jedi Master Luke’s ability to tame these enemies is impressive.

The third wave is a full team of Geonosians led by GBA. JMLS throws his Efflux special AoE on them adding debuffs all over the place, then I chip away at the Geo Brute until he is dead. After killing him off, all efforts go on GBA and finally General Skywalker sends an AoE at them all to finish the final four Geos off with ease.

The final wave has a T-Series Tactical Droid leading with a leadership that does not allow droid allies to be countered and grants B1 the ability to crit. JMLS places a Buff Immunity on the MagnaGuard with his basic to set the table, then I take a huge barrage of attacks. I sprinkle in a couple of attacks myself, lose Hermit Yoda and even with JMLS and his AoE cannot seem to get this heading in the right direction. I lose Jolee, then JKLS and the end comes much sooner than expected. While 1,105,000 Territory Points seems strong, it feels like a bad loss.

My Updated & Revised Roster of Jedi Heroes:

  • Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker – 32,283 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 7 – Six 6-dot mods (Offense & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 167 speed, 11,508 physical damage
  • Hermit Yoda – 32,361 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 7 – Six 6-dot mods (Speed & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 326 speed, 92k health
  • Jedi Master Luke Skywalker – 51,822 power – Gear 13, Relic 8 – 7-stars – Six 6-dot mods (Speed & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 538 speed, 182k health, 63k protection
  • Bastila Shan – 25,407 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 3 – Six 6-dot mods (Speed & Health sets) – all abilities maxed, 274 speed, 69k health
  • Jolee Bindo – 30,132 power – 7-stars – Gear 13, Relic 7 – Six 6-dot mods (Health, Defense & Tenacity sets) – all abilities maxed, 241 speed, 107k health

Phase 3 (South) Jedi Combat Mission Battle Notes:

01.15.21 – New guild, new strategy as I take this battle on. My team checks in at 172k power for this battle as I get started by calling all allies to hit the B2, then Luke stuns the group. I kill off the B2 first, then get stuck behind Magna’s taunt so I take him out while controlling the Geos, kill them and then the B1 and Spy are last since the Spy is under Stealth. The Spy kills Bastila, as her lower stats come into play as I feared, but Jolee revives and I get out of the first wave with all characters in good shape.

The second wave starts much like the first, getting the Heroes Arise attack in and then stunning the group. After the B2 is down I start hitting the B1 as I want that B1 Heavy Gunner off the board ASAP, but need to kill the B1 first. After I get the B1 and his buddy eliminated I kill off the Command Battle Droid and finish the rest off unscathed.

The third wave begins with Heroes Arise on cool down, so I use Hermit Yoda to place a Master’s Training on JMLS to get the assists from all, including JKLS. This does land a Ability Block on the Sniper Droid, but the enemies get the turn meter train going. Luckily JKLS gets a turn in and stuns the group and the Heroes Arise comes free in time to kill off the Sniper. Next I take out the Geo Spy while they are all stunned, and then the BX and the B1 before finishing off the B2 Rocket Trooper.

The final wave of enemies is the Geonosian team that used to wreck me – let’s hope that ends today. I start with Heroes Arise on GBA and then JKLS stuns the 6 Geos, then Jolee is stuck behind the Brute’s taunt and calls JKLS to dispel. JMLS follows with an AoE and this is starting well. I focus all efforts on killing GBA and do so. From here it is a walk in the park as I take them out one by one to score 1,627,500 points for my guild.
